Brief Synopsis

The Procurator of Justice is the "Chief Justice" of the Emperor's Court, and its foremost representative throughout the Empire. The appointed head of the Imperial judicial system, he trials those charged with infractions of the Galactic Empire - Empirereborn Articles of War, dispensing justice to the guilty...

Position Description

The Procurator of Justice is the appointed head of the GE's judicial system, who presides over general courts-martial in accordance with the Articles of War.
Although a civilian, he holds the status of an Imperial Dignitary, and is to be regarded with all due respect. His standard titling is that of 'Lord' (e.g.- "Lord Kardock"), but when acting as presiding authority in a court-martial, is addressed as Milord by any who stand before the Emperor's Court.

The intensity of this position's duties is sporadic, and at its highest when a court-martial is in progress. Routinely, the Procurator of Justice is an alternative contact to the Supreme Commander for Articles of War inquiries, and advises him on the state of Imperial Law.

As it is often unwieldy to transport officers standing court-martial to the Imperial capitol, Fleet Admiral Tiberius Fel has afforded the Procurator of Justice a personal flagship – the Carrack Light Cruiser Interrogator, replacing the the much older Carrack Cruiser Judicator – for galactic transport... Therein, he may be swiftly dispatched to where he is needed, being found in varied – and sometimes classified – locations throughout the Empire.

Incidences of internal crimes are yet rare as of this writing, and it is indeed the wish that their number remain low, as a testament to the competence & loyalty of Imperial officers. In the event of charges being laid, however, it is of the utmost importance that they are handled swiftly, and with no more – or less – than proper Imperial justice. For this reason, the Procurator of Justice is often a retired officer of the Imperial military, and always one of Fleet Admiral Tiberius Fel's most trusted.
