Temporary Duty Assignments are duties that do not come with a
rank or position. A TDA position is generally held in conjunction with an
another position within the Empire. The officer's standard position within the
Empire should take precedence over the temporary assignment, except in special
circumstances.
TDA positions are entirely voluntary and are given to officers who are
willing to invest the extra time and effort into serving the Empire. Often an
officer will need to demonstrate his or her good service to the Empire before
being placed as a TDA.
TDAs are generally managed by the DivCom for the division or the leader of the institution in which the temporary assignment falls. In some cases, the assignment falls outside the area
of any division or institution, in which case the TDAs may be managed by the Supreme Commander or a designated representative thereof.
