The rank of Fleet Admiral (FA) is reserved solely for the Supreme Commander of Imperial Forces, and is the minimum rank necessary to hold that position. The Fleet variant is used as a matter of practicality; higher titles such as High, and Grand were created by the Empire only when the growing sizes of single officers' commands exceeded the reasonable limitations of lower variants. With the Empire being again reduced to the forces of lesser admirals spread out over larger expanses of space, Fleet Admiral is most fitting... |
