Commander of the Army (CoA) is granted the rank of Lieutenant General (LGN) upon his or her appointment. This highly respected rank may also given to the Master-at-Arms after they have served an extremely long, distinguished, and productive tenure.

Only those select few officers who have proven themselves in many different areas and over a very long time can ever hope to achieve this rank. This is the highest any officer can reasonably hope to achieve in their Imperial Army career. Needless to say, there will be very few of these positions available, with the subordinate forces reaching a size near to the largest that any single officer will have beneath their jurisdiction...
