NOTICE

The Galactic Empire or "GE" is an amateur, un-official online organisation/club of Imperial-minded Star Wars fans, and is in no way produced, endorsed or subsidised by Lucasfilm Ltd. or any of its licensees. Based primarily on game platforms from LucasArts Entertainment Co., it is dedicated to re-creating the Empire of the Star Wars universe online, through role-playing, gaming, and any viable arena of fan development.

The Galactic Empire operates at a loss and does not charge or request fees of any kind, thriving solely on volunteer member contributions & services. The Club Manager (Supreme Commander) and all other officers/members perform their duties on an entirely volunteer basis, in the interests of Star Wars fandom and the "Imperial cause".

DEFINITIONS

The Galactic Empire, GE, Empire Reborn: Refer to The Galactic Empire online organisation / fan club, as located at EmpireReborn.net. Now relocated at http://www.empirereborn.net and under the management of Fleet Admiral Fel. The original Galactic Empire was and is owned by Daemon, however, the GE:ER has received the personal endorsement of Daemon as the continuation of his original GE.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF IMPERIAL LAW

As a club, The Galactic Empire possesses various internal policies of operation and general rules of online behaviour that all members must adhere to, as well as an internal "judicial system" in the context of the GE's role-playing universe. These are put forth in the 'Imperial Charter' and 'Articles of War' documents (collectively, "documents of Imperial Law"), as linked-to from the Offical documents page.

By applying to join The Galactic Empire in any capacity, you automatically acknowledge that you have read these documents of Imperial Law, and understand that violations may result in loss of privileges within the GE -- up to and including the termination of one's GE membership and all attached GE "character" personas -- at the sole discretion and interpretation of the Supreme Commander or his authorized representatives.

Its contents are protected by copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents or other proprietary rights and laws, all rights reserved. All material from EmpireREborn.net created for the use of the Galactic Empire by Grand Admiral Daemon, remains under the terms and conditions set out on that website. These conditions form an extension to cover the change of management only.

Excepting any previously-copyrighted materials used (such as those of Lucasfilm, LucasArts, West End Games, etc., to which the GE does not and cannot claim ownership), no material from this Web site may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, without express permission from the Supreme Commander, except that you may view, download, and print the materials for your personal, non-commercial home use only, provided you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices. Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purpose is a violation of The Galactic Empire's copyright and other proprietary rights.

In the event that you download any original GE-created software from the Web site, the software -- including any files, images incorporated in or generated by the software, and data accompanying the software (collectively, the "Software") -- is licensed to you by The Galactic Empire. SUBMISSIONS

Submitting content to The Galactic Empire is achieved through sending such content to the Supreme Commander, or to a representative officially designated to receive certain content on behalf of him or the GE. (As an example, an individual whose officially-designated duties included receiving all submissions of custom Imperial Navy Simulations, would be such a representative.)

All creative suggestions, ideas, notes, drawings, concepts, materials, or other information or content disclosed, submitted, or offered to The Galactic Empire shall be deemed and shall remain the property of The Galactic Empire in perpetuity. No submissions shall be subject to any obligation of confidence on the part of The Galactic Empire, and the GE shall not be liable for any use or disclosure of any submissions. You further waive any "moral rights" you may have in your submission(s).

By developing content/material for use by the GE membership, or by submitting content/material to The Galactic Empire, you automatically grant, or warrant that the owner of such content/material has expressly and unreservedly granted, The Galactic Empire the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sub-licensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such content/material (in whole or part) throughout the universe and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or hereafter developed, for the full term of any copyright, trademark or patent that may exist in such content/material for any purpose whatsoever without compensation to its provider. In all event, original credit towards the author should at all times be visible/attached with the submitted content.

Non-submitted content/material -- including that presented through individual member websites -- remains the full property of its owner/creator. Submitting a site URL for purposes of having a hyperlink placed on the Imperial Nexus does not in itself grant the GE any right or licence in the contents of the site, nor does the GE claim any such right or license.

Much of The Galactic Empire's stance on submissions is taken with the primary objective of protecting it from extortion by individuals threatening to revoke its right or licence to use previously submitted materials. The GE's status is one of a non-profit, volunteer-run and member-developed fan club; it is the hope of the GE that contributing members shall, in consideration of this, regard submissions as "donations" to be incorporated within the GE for overall improvement of the organisation and the experience of its membership. Members who do not wish to grant the GE any right or licence in their works are advised to display such works via personal websites. Let it be noted that the Supreme Commander has a high level of personal appreciation for The Galactic Empire's contributing members, and makes reasonable efforts to give due credit to the original authors of submissions utilised by the organisation. However, situations that necessitate unrestricted use may periodically arise.

Recognizing the global nature of the Internet, you agree to comply with all local rules regarding online conduct and acceptable content.

RESTRICTIONS ON USE OF WEB SITE

empirereborn.net is a "dynamic" website, and widely uses the PHP scripting language to format and display information stored in a MySQL database. Various areas of the Web site also allow certain users and members to modify some or all contents of the database and/or are access controlled using "AuthCodes" or passwords (such areas hereafter collectively referred to as "Administrative Areas").

You agree to utilise only those Administrative Areas to which you have been legitimately granted access, and further affirm that all such utilisation will be in accordance with GE policy and the intended administrative duties of your position(s) within the GE (if any). If any provision of these Terms and Notices is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavour to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of these Terms and Notices remain in full force and effect.

You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to The Galactic Empire or these Terms and Notices must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred.
