Combat Chamber: Installation Instructions

NOTE: All GE Simulations are compressed in ZIP format. Newer operating systems have built-in support for ZIP files, but older ones require utilities such as WinZip. When unzipping, make sure that WinZip's 'Use Folder Names' option (or equivalent) is on, or the files may not decompress into their proper folders.
REMEMBER: Each Imperial Navy Simulation must be flown on its own, blank pilot file to obtain official credit.

[TIE Fighter] [X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter] [Balance of Power]
[X-Wing Alliance] [Galactic Battlegrounds] [Empire at War]

TIE FIGHTER

TO INSTALL:
  1. Go to the folder in which you have TIE Fighter installed, and then to the 'RESOURCE' folder (inside the main TIE folder). Common installation paths for TIE Fighter include C:\TIE, C:\TIECD, and C:\Program Files\LucasArts\TIE95.
  2. Back up the file BATTLE1.LFD; It is the only file that will get replaced during installation.
  3. Unzip/extract the contents of the Simulation ZIP file into your main TIE Fighter folder, with the 'Use Folder Names' option (or equivalent) on.
  4. Run TIE Fighter, and create a new pilot file with a descriptive name (such as "YourPilotName13" for Simulation #13).
  5. Fly and complete the new Battle 1, then send in your pilot file to obtain official credit.
TO UN-INSTALL:
  1. Restore your original BATTLE1.LFD file with the backup copy you made in Step #2, and TIE Fighter will return to its previous state.

X-WING VS. TIE FIGHTER 1.1x

TO INSTALL:
  1. Go to your main XvT folder (usually C:\Program Files\LucasArts\XwingTie), and then to the 'Train' folder (inside the main XvT folder).
  2. Back up the file IMPERIAL.LST; It is the only file that will get replaced during installation.
  3. Unzip/extract the contents of the Simulation ZIP file into your main X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter folder, with the 'Use Folder Names' option (or equivalent) on.
  4. Run X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, and create a new pilot file with a descriptive name (such as "YourPilotName13" for Simulation #13).
  5. Fly & complete all missions associated with the simulation in sequence, then then send in your pilot file to obtain official credit.
TO UN-INSTALL:
  1. Restore overwritten LST files with the backup copies you made in Step #2, and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter will return to its previous state.

BALANCE OF POWER (XvT 2.0)

TO INSTALL:
  1. Go to your main XvT folder (usually C:\Program Files\LucasArts\XwingTie), go to the 'BalanceOfPower' folder (inside the main XvT folder), and then to the 'Train' folder (inside the BalanceOfPower folder).
  2. Back up the file IMPERIAL.LST; It is the only file that will get replaced during installation.
  3. Unzip/extract the contents of the Simulation ZIP file into your main X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter folder, with the 'Use Folder Names' option (or equivalent) on.
  4. Run Balance of Power, and create a new pilot file with a descriptive name (such as "YourPilotName13" for Simulation #13).
  5. Fly & complete all missions associated with the simulation in sequence, then then send in your pilot file to obtain official credit.
TO UN-INSTALL:
  1. Restore overwritten LST files with the backup copies you made in Step #2, and Balance of Power will return to its previous state.

X-WING ALLIANCE

TO INSTALL:
  1. Go to your main XWA folder (generally C:\Program Files\LucasArts\XWingAlliance), then go to the MISSIONS folder.
  2. Back up the mission.lst file. This can be done by copying it elsewhere, or renaming it to missionbackup.lst.
  3. Place the custom mission(s) (those files ending with .TIE) into the current directory (MISSIONS folder).
  4. Place the mission.lst file included with the simulation into the current directory (MISSIONS folder).
  5. Return to the main XWA directory. Place the included pilot file into this directory. Rename this file to reflect your pin (for instance, if the included pilot file was called ERS-00-PIN.plt, Fleet Admiral Fel would rename to ERS-00-155.plt). This is the pilot file you will use to fly the battle. Only use this pilot file.
  6. Fly & complete all missions associated with the simulation in sequence, then then send in your pilot file (the one you installed in step 5) to obtain official credit.
TO UN-INSTALL:
  1. Delete the included mission.lst from the MISSIONS folder and restore the backup of XWA's original mission.lst file. X-Wing Alliance will revert to its previous state.

TO INSTALL:
  1. Place custom scenarios (those ending with .SCX) in your Scenario directory (default is C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Galactic Battlegrounds\Game\Scenario).
  2. Begin a Standard Game
  3. Select "Scenario..." for Game Type, and select the required mission.
  4. Select "Record Game" at the lower right corner of the screen.
  5. Complete the mission (without cheats) and turn in a screenshot of the final score when completed (hit the Print Screen key at the Achievements screen, will be found in your Game\Screenshots folder) to obtain official credit.
TO UNINSTALL:
  1. Delete scenario files (not required).

  3. Fly & complete all missions associated with the simulation in sequence, then then send in your screenshots to obtain official credit.
