Introduction
==========

Well, it's been about a month since I said I might get this out, so I suppose I should finally do it! And it's only been three months since my last report, so I'm doing pretty good, then.

News
==========

-The rank of Second Lieutenant (2LT) has been redefined as Lieutenant Junior Grade (LJ) to match the rest of the Navy's two-letter abbreviations.
-TIE Mission Creation course released by SL Khadgar, anyone interested in mission design should look it over!
-Orbital Mechanics course delisted due to the professor being in the Reserves, it's not really relevant to normal operations within the GE, and almost nobody wants to do it anyway.
-Court Case S-00005, GE v LCP Wetere has recently been concluded, yet another involving illegal clones. I shouldn't have to reiterate the GE's stance on the use of clones by now.
-New site design is active, along with several code cleanups and minor features added. Parallel with this the Officer's Manual has been recompiled and update and can be found at http://empirereborn.net/erom
-OSII medals were handed out a little while ago, hence the slew of medals listed in this report :)

-The ladders are an (almost) always ongoing way to be active in the Empire. Pilots and ground troops face off against one another, and everyone who wins and and everyone who plays gets points. -Hosted by our allies, the ICTE, or Inter-Club Training Event, is a fun way to get together and play some multiplayer outside of the ladders. ICTEs take place every Saturday night, and your participation will earn you a pin for your Imperial Star, with placements in the top three earning the newly restored Imperial Combat Cross! Ew*k of the [Enter long period of time here]
==========

Every report will feature one whose exploits are... less than ideal. The ew*k itself is an endangered species, thanks to the carelessness of the Rebels. Those that know me are aware of the cages I keep in the IDMR laboratories, the contents of which are used for testing or sometimes target practice. Fortunately (or unfortunately), the type of people that earn the Ew*k of the Month "award" are plentiful, so even if the little buggers no longer fill my cages, there will always been a bountiful supply of officers as substitutes.

This report goes out to EN Ghostpire! Who's MSN client has been infected with spambots! It's not often I actually have to block someone, but it's better than those random live.com bots that are rampant now.

After a couple weeks at home, I'm back at school with my full system again, at least for a couple weeks before I go home again, then come back to school again. In the middle there, New Year's mini GERLM!

Standing Orders
==========

1. Be in contact

There are loads of ways to be in contact, and e-mail is just one of them. Most officers are available on AOL Instant Messenger which is a free download. Xfire is gaining popularity after being adopted by the Empire, so that is another official method of contact. If you do use Xfire, please post your screen name into the Xfire thread on the Message Boards so you can be invited to the GE's Xfire group, or contact an existing member. Some people are also on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) all the time (myself included), so please do come by! #galactic_empire on the Undernet network. We're friendly (as long as you're well behaved) and would be very glad to have you join us.

2. Recruit

The Empire is always in need of new officers, so if you know somebody who'd like to join, or if you just want to go out on IRC, the MSN Gaming Zone, or even public servers and find people, that's very much encouraged. If you can find a way to lure someone in, do it! And if you can't find a way, there are chemicals that make coercion easier. There's potentially medals involved!

3. Fly

I'd really like to see lots of people flying, whether on the ladders, single player, ICTE, anything. It doesn't have to take much time, it's a lot of fun, and can be very effective. There's quite a bit of activity on the EaW ladders, at not a whole lot coming from the XvT and XWA pilots recently. Get moving!

4. Have Fun!

That's the most important part of the whole thing. This is why we're here. The most fun can be found in point 3.

5. Fly some more

Seriously, fly a lot. It's fun, you get to blow stuff up. And nothing gets you noticed like a flooded inbox of FPRs ;-)

Closing

Not very many FPRs and only one promotion in the past few months. I keep saying this, but just because OuterSectors has concluded that does not mean you get a by until the next major event starts. COs should be pushing their members to have some activity beyond the very minimal requirements we ask of every officer.

Unit commanders also need to start sending reports to my inbox in addition to whichever method they use to distribute their report, either via email to their unit, the MBs or Admin (ideally all three). Additional emails (and beatings) for COs will follow if the situation does not improve.
