Greetings members of the Empire!
Firstly I must apologize for my absence of late. I have had a rather tight schedule and thus my time has been severly limited. However, things are clearing up again and thus my time is increasing. I shall make a pledge here and now not to let myself go from the Empire for as long as this again. During my semi-absence, I must commend the command staff for working so hard. They have held the Empire together when I was away with great expertise. Moving swiftly on, I present a list of items in the memo below.
#1. Star Wars: Battlefront support added
#2. Line Captain Calder awarded Gold Seal & Interclub results
#3. ISB General Rala retires & closure of ISB
#4. New Academy course available and recent changes in the Academy
#5. Operation Reforger results
#6. IDMR open as TDA team
#7. Website news

#1. Star Wars: Battlefront support!
The GE:ER now supports the new SW:BF platform in the Imperial Army. For BCC requirements please check the academy pages in a few days. It is hoped that the new platform will get more people into the Empire. so go out and recruit your friends and buy the game yourself. Play online and recruit some more. We've already had one cadet at least sign up off www.swbattlefront.com - let's get some more new members.
#2. Line Captain Calder awarded Gold Seal & Interclub results
Due to the hard work of the Captain, we managed a small scale interclub multiplayer event this month. My records show that six pilots, CM La Forge, LT Solidis, Lieutenant MAR, Colonel Jagged Fel, Captain Wedge and Ensign Stark represented the GE again Rebel Squadrons (www.rebelsquadrons.org). In a total of 16 matches, the GE won 12 of these - an outstanding achievement. For the work put in by CL Calder for the organisation, he has received a Gold Seal. I would personally like to award the other pilots with a newly revived version of the Imperial Star. This medal will now be used to represent participation in online multiplayer events only, together with the following details: The Imperial Star (1-pin) IS-1P: is awarded on the 1st representation of the GE online. Up to 5 pins may be added (each representing a turnout and playing at a multiplayer event), until the 5th pin is achieved and the medal is replaced with the Bronze Imperial Star (IS-B). It then takes another 5 pins to get the the Silver Imperial Star, and a further 10 more for the Gold varient (ie 20 multiplayer event participations). A Platinum Star is also available for 40 participations. The Imperial Archives will be updated shortly to reflect this (old details available at http://databank.empirereborn.net/index. ... perialStar).
My congratulations to all those new medal receivers.
#3. ISB General Rala retires and closure of ISB
It is with great sadness that the ISB General, Talek Rala, has now retired from his position. Holding the division together for many years, he is one of the longest standing members of the Empire. The Empire is in his debt for such effort and time he has given the club. A strong believer in Grand Admiral Daemon, he was the Admiral's eyes and ears - giving support and also advice whenever needed. It is my pleasure to bestow on the General a new award that had been talked about amongst the High Command in the past - that of a Distinguished Service Award. This cannot be attained by any active officer, and requires retirement from active service and a distinguished career in the Empire to be eligible (further details for public viewing to follow). This award is only rarely given out and is a great honor for an officer to achieve. I hope that Mr Rala will enjoy retirement and that he remains in contact with the Galactic Empire.
With the retirement of the Divisonal Commander, I am hereby deactivating the Imperial Security Bureau for the present time as our officers are needed in the gaming ranks. It, together with other inactive divisions / instuitions, will hopefully become reactivated in the future.
#4. New Academy course available: Orbital Mechanics I
In a desire to make the academy for useful to the graduated members, we are introducing new courses. The first such course (written by Commander La Forge), will become available in a few days time a final preparations are made to host it on the academy site. All members are encouraged to take the advanced course and also to write their own. Please read the staff handbook and GE manual regarding this procedure.
There have also been some slight changes to the graduation requriements for cadets. It is now needed that cadets prove ownership of the game platform in order to get stationed in a unit, however they will not be to progress in rank until they have achieved the Basic Combat Certificate as per previous members. This is to keep all cadets as active as possible.
#5. Operation Reforger results
A fleet wide competition run by Captain Wedge and Commander La Forge recently completed, and the results as as follows. Medals for the winners will be awarded shortly. Fleet competitions are a great way to show off your skills and to get involved in club activities.

#6. IDMR opens as a TDA team
Those interested in development of the website and other techinical issues are highly encourged to take an interest in the IDMR TDA team. Currently containing La Forge, Solidis, Branet; they are under the direction of the High Command to help facilitate some tasks that are technical in nature. It also serves as a learning platform to forward your own skills. Contact myself and General Jansen for more details.
#7. Website news
After a long period of non-development, this has restarted and can be seen via a recent change to the profile scripts to include displaying of medal records. Changes will be occuring much more frequently now, and hopefully more and more features will be available in a short space of time. Please keep your eyes keen!

That's the end of the news roundup for now; I can also say that a GE Newsletter is in compliation (entries to me please ASAP); and that the manual is being updated and reworked as you read this. The Empire is in a state of high activity - let's keep it that way by recruiting new members and helping each other out, and flying or fighting online. More news on that is the the combat ladders will shortly be reset and results annouced. Keep an eye out for this!

Not to sound impatient oh Fleet Admiral, but I emailed you some time ago about the GE, and I would like a response asap. I know you have been busy, and I understand the need to break from clubbing for a while. I simply request you reply to my email as soon as possible. Thanks Much.

Righto, Fleet Admiral.
Anyways, yep, the Orbital Mechanics Course is finally up and running. I think I'm it's professor, but I have to get my email address put in the HTML file so it sends the course exam to me (General Jansen?). I encourage all of you to start reading the materials and download Orbiter - this one's going to take a bit of time.

Heh, if you had looked at the rosters, Lieutenant, you would have seen the Mr. Archon is an soon-to-be Army grunt, not a fly boy.
