SENIOR FLEET OFFICER’S REPORT

Sector Group 1 News (ISD Chimaera):
The latest report came in from Alpha Squadron this past week. Lieutenant Phantom boasts of a whopping five members in the squad. That brings a tear to my eye. We’ve been rejoined by Mr. Falen, who is now a Second Lieutenant in Alpha Squadron. Lieutenant Falen had a lengthy and distinguished career aboard the Chimaera before, ultimately rising to command Delta Squadron. With luck, we will one day have enough pilots to reactivate it and give him his old command back. Commander La Forge is working in coordination with Captain Wedge for a fleet-wide (read: two ship) activity competition. The proposal has been sent to Fleet Admiral Polanski for final approval. Either I or they will release the details when it is finalized.

Sector Group 2 News (ISD Nemesis):
The last month saw the promotion of Commander Wedge to Line Captain. He is herein publicly congratulated. See competition above.

Fleet News (the rest of the GE):
I have a wargame in the works with the folks at Rebel Squadrons. Assuming we can work out the bugs, it should be a good time. To all you pilots: practice for god’s sake! They have a DEDICATED TEAM of multiplayer pilots. I have a winning record in wargames. I don’t want another blemish on it. Come on, the pride of the GE is at stake. You don’t want to lose to a bunch of stinking Rebel scum do you?

The Army has a website and has adopted a set of rank pins slightly different than those in use by the Navy. I think the distinction is a good idea.

While I don’t know anything about it, it seems that SWG is going well. For you people that do that sort of thing: Keep up the good work and don’t make us (and by “us” I mean “me”) look bad.

The Fleet has introduced the first non-Lucas Arts platform: Free Worlds, a mod for Freelancer. This has been done partly at the urging of Lieutenant Phantom, so I’d like to give one of my customary “good job”s to her.

In the last month I did a hell of a lot of fiction, etc on the Archives. I uploaded my “Treatises on Imperial Strategy” as well as a long story entitled “Nothing Special” which I think is one of my better works (at least those that are Star Wars related). Just tonight I also put down summarized accounts of the eleven wargame battles I have been involved in (commanding ten of them and co-commanding the eleventh; I won nine of them and the two that were lost were both to Syrtaras). Promotions:
As stated before, Wedge has been promoted to line captain.

Demotions:
None.

Resignations:
Uh, none that I am aware of. If you did resign and I didn’t know, then you obviously weren’t very important.

Conclusion:
I think this one lacks the flair of the last one, but it’s 5 am and I’m tired and I don’t care anymore. If you’ve got questions or concerns or comments (no one ever does so I don’t know why I put this part in) then find me. Email or AIM works fine.

The exact assignments will depend on who will be available to fly.

I am already working out a time for the battle with my counterpart in Rebel Squadrons.

Sol: He was refering to report writing in that quote, I believe. And trust me, report writing early in the morning is no fun.

Calder: I really appreciate the "bitter old man" attitude of an imperial officer that saw too many (lost) battles in your reports. Keep it up. :-)

Well, I am a bitter (if not old) man, so it's very easy for me to come across that way. I'm glad someone besides me appreciates the humor in it. And, for the record, one lost battle is one too many. As far as the total number of battles...like I said, it's eleven which (I believe) even beats out you and Pavz for total [GE] wargame battles commanded. If not, then please correct me. There are very few of us who have actually had the privilege to command Imperial forces in "battle".

I was not so much referring to the "real" battles, but the fictional ones. The ones Calder, the fictional character, has seen. And as with any other imperial officer who has seen the Empire being reduced to a mere 8 sectors one lost battle after another, I suppose he has enough reason to be bitter about something. :-)

Hey, stop saying mean things. The glory of the Empire will never die! Even if there is only a handfull of people fighting. We're going to beat those rebels so bad, they'll beg to give us their domain if we just stop beating them. At least, I hope so
