<FA_Fel> Now that the holiday season has passed, I am happy to welcome all of you back to full duty within your units. I hope it has been a restful time, but the fight for the galaxy continues! Please check in with your immediate superiors upon return from leave.

<FA_Fel> The fall session of the ladders has only Empire at War with enough matches played in order that medals be awarded... These are:

<FA_Fel> Second Place - LC Antillies (25 Points): Imperial Victory Cross with Silver Wings
<FA_Fel> Third Place - RA Mar (15 Points): Imperial Victory Cross with Bronze Wings

<FA_Fel> 3) Winter Ladders Open
<FA_Fel> As of the start of this meeting, the winter ladders have been opened for play. I notice that play in the ladders has been steadily decreasing as play in the ICTE (Inter-Club Training Event) has been increasing, and these are no doubt related...
<FA_Fel> I offer a reminder that you can play an ICTE match against another GE:ER player and count it towards the ladders, should you both agree (and be on the ladder!). Matches with or against non-GE:ER players cannot count for ladder credit.
<FA_Fel> To stimulate ladder activity in some platforms that have seen a recent drop-off, for the winter ladders I have a little extra reward in mind for the winners of the following ladders, assuming at least ten matches are played in them: The Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and X-Wing Alliance ladders. I hope to be handing out awards come the April meeting!
<FA_Fel> As expected, the winter ladders remain open until 2009-03-31.

<FA_Fel> 4) Dissolution of Alliance with the Imperial Directorate
<FA_Fel> The GE:ER's official alliance with the Imperial Directorate has been rescinded, effective 2009-01-09. The Imperial Directorate is now considered "neutral" to the GE:ER - neither friend nor foe. There will be no restrictions on dual membership in the GE:ER and ID. No members of the ID will be banned as a result of this change of status.
<FA_Fel> It seems that the ID does not see eye to eye with us on some issues, and the situation could not be resolved. Attempts at reasonable discourse on the issues were unsuccessful. Despite anyone's personal feelings on the subject, the matter that caused this is now closed. Both sides will simply have to "agree to disagree", and let the issue go.

<FA_Fel> 5) Inter-Club Training Event (ICTE)
<FA_Fel> This is just a friendly reminder that the Inter-Club Training Event (ICTE) is taking place in #outerrim. It is highly recommended that you participate and represent the Empire!

<FA_Fel> 6) Academy Reform Revived
<FA_Fel> Plans to reform the Imperial Academy were put on hold as a result of Admiral Zwibble's retirement from the position, but Commodore Junon has been eager to participate in the planning process thus far along.
<FA_Fel> The most important upcoming change to the Imperial Academy is the introduction of a "credit system" to graduate and be placed in an active duty unit. We will still require proof of ownership of a GE:ER platform, but provide several options for completing one's training, including combat certification, fiction, and exams.
<FA_Fel> We will keep you informed as things progress!

<AD_JagFel> Eleven years since the founding of the GE, of which I'm proud to say I've served nearly six.
<AD_JagFel> A lot has been accomplished in that time, and while we may not have active body count of old, we still have the dedicated officers that keep us going!
<AD_JagFel> The GE cannot exist without you, and with your continued support we can continue the fight against the Rebellion!

<AD_JagFel> As many of you are likely aware, there was a spat on the Message Boards with members of the ID.
<AD_JagFel> I will not tolerate inflammatory remarks from officers under my command, the few Naval officers who took part restrained themselves accordingly.
<AD_JagFel> Though relations with the ID have been cut from both ends, this is not an invitation to try and worsen the situation.

<AD_JagFel> Reminder to all that the ICTE takes places every Saturday in #outerrim, and you don't have to be a hotshot pilot to participate!
<AD_JagFel> A single match is all it takes to earn the Imperial Star, and it's great practice to go against live players instead of AI!

<AD_JagFel> I've updated the News page for the first time in over a year, kept it rather short as there was a report in December.
<AD_JagFel> Also, the Rosters page has been replaced with the Resource repository. Here you can find technical information on the Naval platforms of the Empire.
<AD_JagFel> Anyone interested in learning the behind-the-scenes is encouraged to take a look, mission formats for TIE/XvT/XWA are posted, as well a large amount of TIE technical data.

<AD_JagFel> Okay, so I didn't get this out before New Year's like I wanted to, or even the week after, but when I go to work later I'll close a couple holes in the main interface and then write the Save function so I can get this out.

<AD_JagFel> Hit a snag one day while working on YOGEME (usually through a remote) and needed to test something in XvT to proceed (which doesn't work over remote).
<AD_JagFel> I've had this on paper for a while, good enough time as any to start, this will eventually allow for a full reskin of menus, concourses and cutscenes.
<AD_JagFel> This is going to be another one of those long-term projects, but I likely won't be releasing this until it's fully operational.

<FA_Fel> Nobody contends that the GE:ER is perfect. There is always room for improvement, and High Command cannot do it all alone.
<FA_Fel> We seek to involve all of you in making our Empire great, every step of the way.
<FA_Fel> In the past year we've had quite a few new introductions: The updated officers' manual, the new site layout, and Outer Sectors II.
<FA_Fel> This year, I hope to introduce many more new things to the GE:ER. :-)
