1st Brigade BRG-XO position open for application

Gentlemen,

times and situations change. My free time and my access to an internet connection is mainly limited to weekends (Friday noon till Sunday afternoon) tue do RL military. In this situation I can´t continue full command of the 1st Brigade like before, but need assistance. So I´m searching for a new Executive Officer for the Brigade.

The BRG-XO will be my mirror in the Brigade. Whatever has to be done the BRG-XO will be the first to think about it and decide together with me what will happen. As the main reason for re-opening this position is not the number of members, but the fact that I´m mostly off for 4 days a week. Having the BRG-XO to deal with any urgent matters and decide on his own if needed the duty of him will be heavy, and his presence maybe most needed since the commission of this Brigade. So it is clear that I need an Officer with experience in command as well as experience in the GE as a whole.

I´ll expect a lot of him; he has to do his work fast and good, must not get AWOL and must inform me early of any LOAs. So here are the things I want from any applicant, so the application must be sent per mail to me at FriederLeimenstoll@gmx.de with a copy to the CoA and MAA.


Allowed to apply:

- Army Officers
- Navy Officers
- Reserve Officers (must have been a reservist for no longer then 2 years ago)
- Inactives (must have been an inactive for no longer then 1 year ago)


Must not be or have been

- a clone!
- a CD/BRG or even higher , neither in active service nor honorary!


Must use:

- IRC (if not till now, start now!)
- AIM (same!)
- ER Message Board


Must be able to:

- attend on the GE meetings on IRC
- reply to email within 48 hours (24 hours prefered)
- write Brigade-reports if ordered so (only if ordered!)


Must held or have held the rank of:

- LT / ALT / CPT

The new BRG-XO will begin his service in this position with the rank of Captain. If higher ranks have been attained by him he will still begin as Captain! You can discuss with me to start as Major (write it in your application!), but only very few could hope to have my agreement to start as Major here. Remember that as Major you can´t be promoted in this position; do you job here as Captain and you could get the joy of a promotion.


Must have and play (or have played) one of the following games:

- JO / JA / BF / BF2

To have a basic feeling to have a gun in the hands.


Must have completed, or are going to complete within near future, the following exams:

- Army Officers Exam
- Navy Officers Exam
- Company Leadership Exam
- Squadron Leadership Exam
- Introduction to the GE I
- Introduction to the GE II
- GE Administration I

As said, I need someone with experience of the GE and it´s structure and policies. As graduation of these exams needs some they are a good yardstick. Why I want experience of the Navy stuff? Knowledge is not limited to the Army alone; true knowledge is a horizont, never reached - never achieved!


Must ask for a reference from your actual:

- SCS-1O / SCS-CO / BRG-XO / BRG-CO

Important here is that I don´t want any bullshit or personal embroidery, but details and truth. Ask the officer you want to reference you to write me a mail and write in your application who you asked for it. Also note that the reference must not be shown to you! Of course you can ask other people (including subordinates, coordinates, superiors and HC-members) to send me additional references, too.


If possible/available, ask for a reference from your last:

- Squadron Leader / Company Leader
- Flight Leader / Company-XO

The rules are the same as above, must not be shown to you.


Send in your application:

- the list of people you asked for a reference, with your relation
- an overwiev of your carreer with details (like times, COs, highlites, etc.)
- what you want to do as BRG-XO
- what you expect of your service as BRG-XO
- what you expect of me
- what you expect of the Company-COs
- what you want/dream/plan for your own carreer
- any qualifications/skills you have and think to be usefull



That´s all! Simple, clear, easy to fulfill for an active officer! I want the application on my desk till the 21st of July. Any later applications will for now be without use as long as not specified otherwise.

Being a BRG-XO is a heavy burden and can be pretty much to do if you try to set own priorities and to fulfill my expectations. But be sure that is can be a very rewarding position and like the SCS-1O marks your entrance into middle and higher commands; the experience you´ll get here and the fact to hold this position is a big step upwards.
