I can't answer your Java queries, but I can tell you the times ORW3 runs for.

It starts at 9am EST on Saturday and continues until midnight on Sunday - a total of 39 hours.

9am EST = 2pm GMT

Plenty of time for anyone to play. In fact, one of the three winners of first engagement was a Brit and two from the second engagement were.

Just add 39 hours to 2pm. You end up with 5am GMT.

Or learn how to do timezone conversions.

It's pretty much self explaining from there, but if you need help you can post it here. There's an IRC course that explains the very basics (by yours truly), but it still isn't up at the academy page, because the Admiral is very busy at the moment, writing her thesis. I guess I could just dig it out from my backups (AGAIN) and upload it somewhere if the need arises. IF.

Install mIRC
Run it.
Close options.
In the status window, type the following commands:

Code: Select all

/nick EN_Roche
/server irc.undernet.org
/join #galactic_empire
/join #outerrim

That should get you online, on both the GE and ORW3 channels. Wait until you've connected to the server before doing the two join commands.

Mar: Because there's a difference between typing in 5 lines of text (and then further asking questions all the time for the simplest things) and taking a course to better your understanding on how a thing works.
