Scimitar Squadron & Royal Guard Update!

Officers of the Galactic Empire:

Many of you may have read about Scimitar Squadron in the manual... knowing it was a closed squadron never to be opened. The squadron has been opened...

Scimitar Squadron has been redefined. It remains the elite squadron of the Imperial Navy, however, it operates on a basis similar to the Imperial Army's Royal Guard system. Any sufficiently skilled pilot and worthy officer, whether in the Army or the Navy is eligible for a commission into Scimitar Squadron.

All material relevant to Scimitar can and should be read. It is available here: http://scimitar.empirereborn.net/ . Scimitar Squadron is tied closely to the Secret Order of the Emperor... The publicly available details are available on the web site. The remainder of the details are available only to members of the Order...

At present, the position of Scimitar Leader is unfilled. As the Steward of the Secret Order, it is my duty to find such a leader... In the meantime, I have inducted two worthy pilots into the order: MAR and Jagged Fel have joined the order as initiates. They have clearly demonstrated their prowess in combat and their worthiness as officers. Extend to them your congratulations...

Do you think you have what it takes to join the ranks of Scimitar? Then you had best get to training...

If you have further questions, you may contact me, but not all questions will be answered, due to the nature of the Order...

The second part of the announcement comes directly from General Jansen... The Imperial Army's Royal Guard will now be accepting members from both the Navy and the Army, as long as they meet the requirements.

Another update of note: Mr. Steel has returned from the Reserves... As Scimitar Leader! Steel holds a vast array of honours as a pilot and officer, and has served all throughout the Empire, both as a pilot and as ship command staff. Owing to the nature of his superb piloting skills, Steel has taken the position of Scimitar Leader...

Please congratulate him.
