If some of you know's where we can recruit new members. Please post the sites here.

I've had problems finding anything on the Zone , maybe I was out of the loop too long , or maybe I'm not looking at the right place.

We have to get busy people!!!

I've picked up people from RvB (most that tried were fools and never made it past the Academy, but that's what you get for passive recruiting

), and maybe a stray or two from the forums at Massassi.net

I'd very much like it if people could share locations and strategies for recruitment here. The more cadets we have in the academy, the better! We want to avoid spamming, of course, and recruiting cadets from a like-minded base is more likely to result in active officers who are having a good time. Anyone who's ever recruited anyone is welcome and encouraged to post here and share his/her experiences and suggestions. Anything goes, from "real life" locations and tactics to how to chat up people in a furball. Speculation and discussion is very much welcome!

I've been using mostly passive recruitment; a link in my sig line, banner and quick description on a profile page, etc. If I find a thread about a supported platofrm, I'll stick my head in and mention it, sometimes leaving the full "Join the Empire" speech. Only people I know play a lot and know me (or they contact me first) will I enter one-on-one convo's about the GE.

Unfortunately, passive recruitment brings in a lot of fools that can't see the tiny message saying "PC Only" for Battlefront. (La Forge, I said BIG and bold. Maybe add some flashing neon lights, too

)

Jag, if they can't read the words NEXT TO THE PLATFORM, then they do not deserve to be here, because obviously they failed first grade.

Thank you ,Commodore Zwibble , for your intervention.

Most of us want to recruit new cadets. But are either too busy to do so , we don't have the communication skills or are simply "not here for that".

But , by posting "ways" to recruit easely or sites to go (Thank you Jagged). I think we can help the GE:ER and eachother.

All that stuff said. I welcome ALL of you active members , reserves members and people who were once members , to post here. To give hints , strategies and experiences on how you've recruited someone.

A few months ago Commander La Forge and I attempted a trial program of a more proactive form of the passive approach similar to what Colonel Fel mentioned. The basic concept was to join a few Star Wars message boards (The preference was pro Imperial type, of course, but they were not always avaliable.) and use our full ID-lines with a link to the GE included. Then we merely posted, giving feedback to existing posts in an attempt to advertise our ig links as much as possible. Unfortunately the program did not seem to generate any candidates, though we were not really at it long enough to generate a large amount of curiosity about the GE. As a recruitment tool passive can drum up some interest, but it takes a fair amount of time and effort before you see much of a result. Unless, of course, you just find the right kind of person who's curious enough to look into things.
