Yes yes, I know. It's on my list, right after updating the entire Academy page. Now that I'm done with my German test and unemployed (yay?

Speaking of which, I'm going to be testing the Acadmy page on my machine, running Windows 2000 with a Rage 128 ATI graphics card (rockin' the 32 MB here). I've got IE 6 and Firefox 1.0.4 and will probably be downloading Netscape and Opera as well. If anyone else wants to offer up their services for browser-testing, especially if they've got odd settings or hardware or some obscure browser, I'd much appreciate it.

Laith used to (and might still) use Opera, I think. Or at least one of the Scandinavian IRCers did.

I've got NS7, but my real oddball gem is my (*gasp*

) 800x600 screen resolution. If you can make it look good here, you can make it look anywhere.

You use Windows 98 and an 800 x 600 resolution?! I think we need to call an exorcist. Out, evil demon, OUT!

Seriously, though, why on earth would you want to subject yourself to such torture? *shudder* I still have nightmares from 98.

I would punish everybody who uses 800x600 by not letting them on the site. That and add a OS check to make sure they are not using Win 3.11, 95, 98 or ME.

Period. :P

Vort, you are apparently mad at me about something. Please do not insult my OS, as it is old, fraile, and not up to the task of defending itself anymore.

I use it because I can not be bothered to get a new system when the one I have works perfect for, quite literally, everything I need to do. Why spend the money when you don't have to?

As for the screen res: Even numbers make me happy.

Also, the only people I know who use 800x600 are my parents, and that is so they don't need their reading glasses when they sit at the PC

HEY!!!! i always use 800x600, thats how i got most of my graphicle games looking better, like Rome Total War, thats really good for that game, there actually faces in it

Game and desktops are different. I use low res (1024x768 anyone? or perhaps 800x600) for games as my gfx card is not fast enough. Desktop is 1280x1024

1280x1024 and I would use 1600x1280 if my screen could take it. Jeez, what's wrong with you, people? Are you all blind or what?

Just looking at a 800x600 screen makes my eyes hurt, let alone the imposibility of working on such a screen, not even mentioning doing multitasking...

Blind for desktops, or games? I can't stand 8x6 for a desktop, it's huge (I'm at 1152x864

Doesn't matter if for desktop or games - why on earth would anybody run either one on anything less than the highest resolution, unless he's blind, or lacks the hardware?

I ran CS at 8x6 beacuse it made accuracy better (especially for distance shots), although it did use a lot of screen space for the HUD (some of the people who have no life ran it at 640x480)
