Fel, I refuse to write code by hand. Having actually done that, I happen to know it is a pain and I will never attempt such a feat again. :P

And hey, all you ranking people, the observation deck is near the bridge, isn't it? :P

Ah typical. Calder and Wedge argue and who's the REAL captain, doing work? :P

Me. :P

Allthough I wonder how fast Steel and I COULD turn that ship into a submarine. :P
I mean the old idiom still goes: "All ships can submerge, but only submarines can surface." :P

Actually, Vort, the ship was built in Germany at Lloyd-Werft in Bremerhaven in July of '99.

It was the "M/V Norwegian Sky" until renamed "M/V Pride of Aloha" for NCL's trial run at revitalizing the U.S. passenger ship fleet. There hasn't been a U.S. flagged passenger ship in 30 years. Also of note, NCL owns the "S.S. United States" which set the record for the fastest Atlantic crossing ever.

There is talk of refitting it with a modern diesel-electric plant (which is what this has) and putting it back in service. I would love to get aboard that ship.

I've only been on the bridge here twice or so. Since I'm an engineering officer I rarely make it up there. I don't come out of the "dungeon" that often.
