Chapter Two: Onward Ride

((OOC: We're going to give this a test, see how it goes. Combat makes things tricky, and since nothing is resolved, we'll have to be flexible. No one do anything stupid now. :P ))

La Forge hurried over to the front of the bridge, practically bolting across the crew pit. Darn them, Muscat was right. The convoy was too far away to catch, even with his speedy TIE Interceptors and Assault Transports. At least the Dreadnought would not get away. There was a possible source of information.

La Forge turned around. Weapons, status report! A bridge crewman called back smartly. Good, La Forge thought, everything is nice and powered up.

"Begin firing the forward ion batteries when we are in range. Turbolasers should be spared for the fighters only. Don't stop until it's deader than a nerf in sauce."

And with that, La Forge took his seat and watched the battle unfold.

Captain Mitchell wiped his brow, vowing to never buy a piece of property on Korriban. The surprising heat had driven him to yet again throw his head back and empty his canteen of water over his head.

As the water flowed off his face and down his neck, Mitchell thought he saw ion blasts streaking across the sky. He yanked out his binos and zoomed them skyward. He could make out the Nemesis firing its turbolasers and lactating squadrons of TIE interceptors. He knew Muscat and Iota Squadron had been deployed by their tight attack patterns. He thought he saw some kind of old capital ship engaging the Chimaera (and apparently evading it).

"Why the hell does nobody tell us about these things?" Mitchell muttered through his teeth...

Twisting his fighter into a tight spiral away from the ancient capital, LT Drazhar formed up with his Iota squadron flight, getting ready for another attack on the enemy fighters.

Out his upper view port, the only other one on a TIE bar the slightly bigger one in front of him, Drazhar could make out the rest of Iota bearing down on both the Dreadnaught's engines and the remaining fighters.

"Damn it Muscat, " he thought, "leave a few for me, only ten more before that weekend shore leave"
