Greetings everyone!
Here we have the third report from my office. Actually it *should* have benn the fourth, but very little time on my side (Zwib's parents are over for a two
week visit), as well as a LAN party that we were supposed to have internet access at, but didn't and finally some sickness on my part (you decide what caused
the sickness :P) basically killed everything I planned.
Anyways, time for the actual report:
Report from the office of Lieutenant Commander George Hellaeron Vortagh II, currently leader of Zeta Squadron and Navy TC.
Current Personal Activity:
Not as much as I wanted to do. A lot less than last time.
- I played quite a bit of Freeworlds again, this time with our brand new tag [IN-GE:ER], and flying a brand-spanking-new TIE/Phantom!
- I played a lot of Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, X-Wing Alliance and Battlefront on the LAN Party (more on that later)
- GE DOM II point calculation nears it's end. Almost everything save a small hand full of battles have been examined and awarded points. Last report I said I
might put up some scores on the MBs but I decided against it, seeing how counting points for ships and units would take too much time and I have too little
of that anyways. (yes, even with my current "GE work-schedule", I still have a real life...)
- ImperialSquadrons.Net (the updated content version - it will still look the same, though :P) is moving on and will be uploaded soon.
- Together with IS.Net I will also upload the new part on X-Wing Alliance add-ons and editors! (Allthough most likely I will uploaded it some time *after*
most of the other content has been uploaded)
- There will be a new subdomain zeta.imperialsquadrons.net for our squadron. More on that in the orders section!
- I checked out another editor for X-Wing Alliance. I heard good and bad things about it and you'll see for yourself soon - however, this one is freeware!
Sadly it got abandoned during the beta (Version 0.95). :/
- Got myself Battlefields and Force Commander (again :P) which are the only games I am missing BCCs for!
- I spent lots of time on the ER Messageboard and on IRC/AIM/ICQ/YAHOO/MSN. Well at least in the last week. This week I neglected everything pretty bad.
- I never thought it would happen, but I played a *lot* of JK Battles against EN Zwib and even won a few of them.
- I took part in the Inter Club Training Event (ICTE) in channel #outterim last weekened, together with EN Zwibble.
- I basically finished the story for General Jansen's "Ewok Hunt" competition, but I never got to going over it and letting Zwib spell check it for me :/
- Took part in the TE (Territorial Engagement) on the Freeworld server, that was supposed to free the Bilbringi system from New Republic oppression. Sadly it
backfired.
- I joined the SFS (Sienar Fleet Systems) shipping faction for the Empire on the Freeworlds server. That way we get more cash! :-)
As you can see, this list is QUITE a bit shorter. I hoped that I could get two people from the LAN Party to sign up while I was there (they want to join with
Freelancer/Freeworlds) and then also use the LAN party for ladder matches and try to get more people interested in XWA and FW, but as said earlier, we had no
internet access. In the end we played quite a few offline matches and I guess we can enter those as ladder matches as soon as the others actually sign up.
Time-eating activities like webdesign were cut short severely but I expect to pick them up shortly. I need to cut down on my list of "to-do" with a few hours
of dedicated work. *sigh*
Current Planned Personal Activity
- Finish GE DOM II scores
- Actually start adding my stuff to the GE IRC course (first part) by Jagged Fel.
- Finish making a few banners for Jansen (army competition)
- Finish writing a little story for Jansen (army competition)
- Recruiting two more members to get my MoX-BG
- Actually starting the work on converting my XvT missions/battles
- Getting the PHP sandbox to work. Guess I have to talk to Admirals Polanski and Fel for that one.
Current Squadron Activity:
2nd Lieutenant Steel:
Steel, again, flew alot after getting unbanned. When one of the Server Admins told me that I could fly an Übership (those are limited to a few *small* number
on the Freeworlds server) from now on, I asked for it to be given to Steel instead, who is still a better pilot than I am - plus I was completely out of
shape after a few days of not flying FW and unsure if I could make it to the TE.
He also flew in the first TE (which I missed due to no internet at the party) and managed to get himself a heavily armed Imperial Barge for it.
I still have his 20 Million, but then again I haven't really heard of him in the past days. Report in, Steel. :P
Good work, though!
2nd Lieutenant Splatter:
Splatter still is on Leave, but his Tanaab flu is getting better according to the medical officer on duty.
He already took a few hours in the simulators again.
He contacted me recently and was going to set up his player on the server to the new faction tag.
Get better fast, Splatter!
Ensign First Class Zwibble:
Zwibble put quite some work in the pic page (located at www.zwibble.com) and uploaded quite a few pictures sent to her.
Other than that, she played quite a bit of JK with me and continued working on her BCCs in the little free time we currently have.
Ensign Junn Kasra:
Ensign Kasra contacted me and told me that he won't be able to stay online, so I will request him to be put into the reserves until he has a working internet
connection again.
Ensign Jait Astaroth:
Dayton, I told you I only want *active* clones. :P
Other Squadron Related Activity:
Well, there isn't much to report this time other than our participation in the Territorial Engagements on the Freeworlds server. My personal engangement was
rather short, I only got one rebel (and he fled before I could fire the one last shot needed to kill him - I ran out of rockets) before two rebels ganged on
my TIE Phantom and vaped me. :(
Well, at least the Faction is set up and running. We should now think of how to get it running smooth, what to do next (training sessions are needed!) and
how to get back at the rebels....
Anyways for all you people interested in joining our faction on the server, you HAVE TO CONTACT ME BEFOREHAND AND YOU HAVE TO BE PUT UP ON OUR MEMBERLIST
BEFORE YOU CAN USE THE TAG! OTHERWISE YOUR CHARACTER WILL BE DELETED!
Current GE activity/competitions:
I just copy/pasted this part. All three competitions are still open and going. Please see if you can whips something up! :D
Currently these are interesting to us:
- First of all, General Jansen of the Army still has two competitions going on. We have a competition creating banners for the army units
(I Corps, 1st Brigade, Dragon, Hornet, Raider, Spearhead), as well as a competition for writing a little story about an ewok hunt.
Links:
http://empirereborn.net/holonet/viewtopic.php?t=555
http://empirereborn.net/holonet/viewtopic.php?t=427
- The "Outer Sectors" Campaign is starting up. Keep your eyes on the forum for news!
Standing Orders:
Ah, more of this hated section :P
- The usual status update. Seeing how everybody tends to send this in every second day, every third day at least, it just acts as a constant reminder. :-)
- Be more active to the outside people. I know we talk all the time and both Zwib and Steel are hanging out on IRC with me quite often, but a bit more would
be nice! :-)
- Again - I would like you to remind you of the competitions mentioned in the "GE competitions" section, above. It would be great to see stuff handed in from
some of you. I am sure some of you are capable of doing that. :)
- Sign up for the ladders again! Steel, Zwib and I did quite a few matches on two ladders. This time I think I will have more free time to spend there, so I
can actually play more matches with other games. I'd love to see you there and have some fun
- Standing orders for missions are still the same! The following people still need to fly said missions:
Vortagh:
ERS-1, ERS-2, ERS-3, ERS-4, ERS-5, ERS-6, ERS-7, ERS-8, ERS-9, ERS-10, ERS-18, ERS-21, ERS-22, ERS-23, ERS-24, ERS-25, ERS-26, ERS-27, ERS-28, ERS-29,

Nothing has changed here since the last two reports. :P
As said last week, I can understand that nobody is too keen on getting them done. :P
Current Squadron Roster:
1-1: LC George Hellaeron Vortagh

1-3: EN Junn Kasra
2-1: 2LT Steel
2-2: EN Jait Astaroth

EN Zwibble: MoM - for helping getting #Galactic_Empire re-registered
EN Zwibble: IS with 1 pip - for participating in the ICTE
These weeks we had a few more medals and I know that there are a few more medals coming in. We just have to wait for them to be awarded.
News from the office for Tactical Coordination:
There are absolutely *no* news or anything to report for the last two weeks. No new missions have been submited and due to extreme "no-timeness" on my part
for anything that takes longer than 30 minutes (Too many breaks and interruptions here, let alone people crowding my room), I doubt anything will be added
here in the next report. However, there isn't that much to do anyways.
Well, that isn't true. I *have* been working on X-Wing Alliance stuff again, as mentioned, but not to the extend I'd hoped I'd be able to.
The "orders" on how to submit stuff is still the same and I will include it here so people don't have an excuse if they forget it.
Here a few guidelines that will help me do a better job and keep me from feeding you alive to a bunch of predator-nerfs:
1.) Submit everything by email ONLY. I need to cataloge missions in my inbox, because I can assure you that I will not immedeately jump on every mission you
throw at me like a starved Wampa on a Burger King menu.
2.) Please zip (or better rar) all the missions you send me. I don't want to waste any of my (currently) limited bandwidth. :P
3.) I would like to know beforehand what I am going to test, so please give me a little line about what you created (what game, how many battles, how many
missions each battle, summary of storyline, any problems you cannot get ironed out, any questions, etc). Also, remember to use a good subject line for your
email. "Stuff for you" is definitely not, "Missions for TC" would be appropriate, "TIE Battle for TC" would be best.
4.) Keep in mind that I am currently a VERY busy man! My desk is literally covered in paperwork (I mean it) and things keep piling up allthough I am
currently working about 10 hours a day on getting stuff done. I will not be able to start on any missions you send me until at least the end of the next
week!
Praise and Criticism:
Praise of the week goes to *drumroll*:
Criticism of the week goes to:
Myself. My planning was far to narrow-minded and I hoped I'd get a lot more stuff done than I did in the end. Bad Vort, BAD!
Quote of the week:
CM La Forge: I am getting worried... "La Forge" is showing up in far too many of your QotWs, Colonel. :P
COL Fel: Heh, just wait until the next harvesting :P
CM La Forge: I love how you refer to them as plants. :P
Vortagh's rules of being a Supreme Commander:
#3 Do not plan *anything*, don't tell people what you have *planned* to do and don't give out any timeframes. That way you don't have to make up excuses when
your plan/timeframe fails. Trust me. It will.
That was it, hope you enjoyed the show. Until next time,

Thank you, Commander. Make sure it gets emailed next time, please.
Oh, and you'll be happy to know that the major functionality for Combat Chamber Management is done; Pol just needs to look it over.

Vort, you're displaying two sets of medal lines there
And I mean two different sets, not that you've got a double signature - that one I do understand

Maybe it was the 5 kilos of chips, 10 pizzas, and 25 gallons of soda you consumed at the LAN party? Just a guess.Vortagh wrote:(you decide what caused the sickness)

Yeah, apparently nobody actually got it. I guess my account screwed up (does that every once in a while). So I will just resend the whole thing.
However, I noticed that I missed a few parts, so I will add them and THEN send it.
It was only 1 kg of chips, 5 pizzas and 18 liters of soda! :P (yes, I counted! :P)
