Fleet News:
-Outer Sectors Briefing released!
(viewtopic.php?t=614&highlight=)
This exciting new Galactic Empire scenario is set to begin shortly. The besieged Empire has been pushed back to the brink of destruction, and only bold action will save it from the likes of the Rebel scum. We few, the guardians of the Empire, new and old, must give this war our all or face complete annihilation. Keep your eyes on your email boxes and the Message Boards for further information.
-New Gimel Squadron Leader Found.
As most of you have already heard, I have appointed a new Leader to head up Gimel Squadron now that Lt Mar is off to the Reserves. I’d like you all to welcome Lieutenant Christine Daltin,
-Medal Processor returns to service.
Now that the FPR processor is back on line I will be accepting any and all XvT or TIE simulations you’ve been storing for the last few years. If you send in enough of them I might even consider sending you a little extra something when the medal processor module is loaded into the new Admin system.
-Imperial Academy Recruitment Competition Ends.
The competition, which started January 25th, ended on February 15th. My thanks to those who participated, and here’s hoping we did well.
-The GE Picture Page returns to the Internet.
Now that the ImperialSquadrons.net server is back up, Ensign Zwibble has decided to revive the GE Pic Page. I encourage all of you to visit www.zwibble.com and send in a few of your own self-portraits.
-Zeta Squadron Leader Found
AS many of you know, the new Leader of Zeta is none other than former Imperial Moff, Lieutenant Commander George Hellaeron Vortagh II. Glad to see you’ve gone straight and rejoined the Fleet Commander. I’m sure I’m speaking for all of us when I say I’m looking forward to seeing you in action during the Outer Sectors scenario.
Ship News:
There’s been a fair bit of good news on the home front. So far we’ve received two new cadets in as many weeks. If this keeps up we’ll be ready to open up another squad sometime in March. In the mean time everyone please do your best to welcome EN Moonbreaker (Gimel 3-2) and EN Palermo (Gimel 3-4).
As mentioned the Flight Performance Reporter is back up, so anyone with missions they’d like to submit for review can send now them to me for processing. Two pilot files have already been processed, both of which came from Ensign Quorl Dalon of Epsilon Squadron. Congratulations Ensign, a few more and you’ll be getting your first MoC. The Medal request admin feature is back up, too, so I wouldn’t mind having a reason to gvie a few out.
A few AWOLs were cleared off the roster as well, making room for new people to take their places. Over the next few weeks Commander Laithlis and I plan to crack down particularly hard on any inactives who’ve been missing for more than the maximum ten days. With the launch of the Outer Sectors scenario and the recent influx of new members, particularly XWA pilots, we cannot afford to have any inert people. Squadron and Flight Leaders, I’m relying on all of you to keep our crew active and in high spirits for the times to come.
Ship Activity:
– Line Captain Wedge
I’m finally back on high speed Internet, and boy what a difference. I’ve been online a lot lately, mostly hanging around mIRC and AIM. If you’re online don’t forget to drop me a line sometime. I enjoy hearing from all of you, whether you have concerns or questions, or you’d just like to say hello. For those who use AIM, my nick is IM GE Wedge. MSN users can find me by searching for my email address (Wraith_Leader@hotmail.com).
I’ve recently ordered the parts I need for a new computer. Once they arrive I ma be down for a day or two while I pound the pieces together with a blunt object. Once I have the new computer up I’ll be able to participate in the ladder matches without the ability to blame my terrible aim on “Lag Problemsâ€.
In the mean time I’m in the process of learning php so I can assist with some of the remaining GE coding work that needs to be done. If anyone knows of any good reading material on the subject, please let me know.
– Commander Laithlis
Cmdr Laithlis been a little quiet lately due to technical problems, but is still continuing on with his recruitment project. Lately he’s been playing a bit of Free Worlds, but I’m sure we don’t have to worry about loosing the commander to Zeta Squadron anytime soon.
– Lieutenant Daltin
Lt Daltin is off to a good start in her duties as Gimel Leader. So far she’s sent out a few emails and started an AWOL check of Gimel. No report needed for this week. Since there is nothing for Ms Daltin to report yet, I didn’t ask for one.
– Lieutenant Branet
Lt Branet has been in contact and is also running an activity check, as well as performing his other duties. Squadron Report Received, thank you.
The Dark Side of the Refresher:
Two Gamorrean guards are walking down a narrow, deserted canyon when suddenly a Krayt Dragon comes out and starts chasing them. One of the Gamorreans stops to put on his best running shoes. "Don't waste time," shouts the other one, "you can't outrun a Krayt Dragon with those!" "I don't have to outrun the Krayt Dragon," says the first one as he finishes lacing his shoes, "I just have to outrun you!"

Remember, I’m always looking for good material for the comedic section of this report. If you see something that tickles your funny bone, send it in and I’ll be happy to place it here.
