THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT - JUST AN INFORMATIONAL POST

Well - since I saw something about SWC in the Civilian Area, I decided to start another thread to speak about SWC. This is a Massive Mulltiplayer Online Role Playing Game - which, what is weird is that they've been semi-sued by Lucas Arts - is in a state of constant upgrading and overhauls.

This is a game where the admins are decidedly pro Galactic Empire - whish is not a good thing. The Emperor of the GE there is friends with the Sim Master and if he whines about something, it's given to him.

One example is this - recently the Interdictor Class Cruiser was just recently added to the ship rules. Any self-respecting Star Wars fanatic knows that the Interdictor line is an offshoot of the Vindicator Heavy Cruiser line which was a semi-ISD type cruiser. The admins gave it to the GE without them having to R&D the Vindicator.

But the admin biasedness aside, this game is actually a cool game. I've been in for close to 2 years, and I now am a faction leader. To be exact, I'm the Faction Leader fot the Corellian Engineering Corporation, the legendary creators of the YT-1300, YT-2400, YT-2000 and a ship in SWC known as the YT-510.

One thing that you need to realise in SWC is that it's in an everchanging state of coming closer to completion. While this may seem as a turn-off to everybody, you need to realise that SWC is coded by people who volunteer during their spare time to code and are not paid via money. The only way they're paid is via Combine Points (also known as CPs). This is one way that you can get rare ships (but beware! They take a long time to accumulate enough CPs to get a ship. A Carrack Light Cruiser takes 37,000 CPs to get :S).

If people think that I"m spamming - I appologise, I just wanted to give those who thought they knew everything about SWC a little look at it via the eyes of somebody who's been there for almost 2 years.

Been there for a while, but I don't do much other than run back and forth picking up ships and people right now, and that's not even my job.

Still there (TF) and I like it. Dead at the moment, but for sure an interesting thing as the TF is giving hope like the GE doing elsewere.

I would be on it but I can't use my only e-mail adress at yahoo because they don't accept free e-mail adresses.

Either a full mailbox, or a redirect to your current address.

True - they require an email address that will determine your IP or one that is not free as anybody and their mom can get those

If you're at a college, make sure nobody else at your university or college plays - as that would be consider being a multi and you'd get slapped around for having a "multi" and not being registered. ANd you'd have to email Syn about it.

That is ONE dumb system. "Hey! Only one person per umpteen K of college people can play". :P

Well there is a way you can do it - they just have to know that multiple people on the same string of IP addresses (like the base IP) will be connecting to the server).

*shakes head* Still a bad system.
What is so bad about a college/university email address? I mean with stuff like hotmail, yahoo, etc I can undestand that people don't accept them. Pretty much everything cancels those out (allthough I still think that the negative aspects of that outweight the few positive aspects), but what about university addresses? You can just "get one" afterall and getting a "good" adress isn't that easy from my point of view. If not for my IS.net address and the ER address, I would have no idea who to contact to get an email like this.

College and university ones work. Since they're from the origin that your IP is from. Forgot to say that.

Normally with ISPs, Vorty, you're given an email address
