Quoting from the citation that Fleet Admiral Polanski issued:

In recognition of complete dedication in all lines of duty as First Officer of the flagship, coupled with excellent work in assisting Fleet Admiral Polanski in updating, maintaining and creating publically viewable webpages on the er.net domain and for taking the time to learn new skills required to do so.

It was with great pleasure that I requested this award, for my First Officer has been dedicated and committed to the ideals of the Empire from his very first day as a young ensign in Gamma Squadron.

He has been my right hand aboard the Chimaera, and he has gone above and beyond the call of duty in his assistance of the Supreme Commander.

Congratulations to Commander La Forge!

Funny, it never occured to the pych-people that I actually serve on one big weapon of massive destructive power. Oh well, their loss is my gain.
