RS Skirmish Results

Alright, here are the results of the skirmishes we flew today against the RS. As I noted to others, we didn't play the massive fleet SKM because no one's XWA could handle such a load of players and ships. In any event, here we are:

GE - 12 wins
RS - 4 wins

Lieutenant Solidis flew many of these, as well as myself, Lieutenant Mar, Ensign Stark, and I think even Captain Wedge got in for one.

And I did manage to get in a fly after a while, although all the "official" stuff was done. I think we still finished it up at... 15-6?

Congratulations, pilots of the Empire! I must say I am very surprised by and highly impressed with the performance you showed. It is also not below me to admit that I was wrong when I suspected you would be defeated, so I apologize for ever doubting your elite piloting skills.

Gentlemen, with more events like this - and more imperial victories - maybe you will be able to at least partially restore the glory of the New Order. :-)

The official score was 12 to 4 with the GE in the lead.

The end score was indeed 15 to 6 with the GE in the lead.


Two Imperial Star Destroyers wait in orbit, as a Victory class Star Destroyer is the last to make the rendezvous.

You all are at your regular duties, Wedge in the Captains chair, pilots in the bars, Syrt playing golf in the halls of the Vigilant, and Commander La Forge still trying to clean up his sandbox mess. Then all of a sudden the intercom blares the imperial march. Slowly the volumes of the prideful music decreed, to the complaints of some of enlisted.

“Greetings fellow imperials, this is Lieutenant Stuka Solidisen…” as soon as that name was said over the intercom, naval officers we ordered to find and arrest the Lt, “I bring good new to the empire. In the last skirmish, the Empire vs. the Rebel Squadrons, Imperial pilots proved the might of the empire.” Crewmen of the three massive ships grinned, thinking this was a prank, for all knew the Empire was not what it uses to be. But sharp stares from battle weary pilots swiftly challenged the crewmen, telling them this was no prank.

Then the holocams flashed, showing images of battle. TIEs and X-Wings met in a blaze of laser fire. The TIEs broke formation in wingmate pairs as the battle became fierce. The intercom then replays the pilot’s voices as they talked to each other in battle, along with intercepted rebel communications…

…the comunacations end, and the voice returns… “There was much partisapation in the skirmish. The wins were credits to the great pilots,” …once again the Imperial march is blared through the intercoms wile the names are listed… “Commander La Forge, Myself, 2nd Lieutenant Mar, Ensign First class Stark, Captain Wedge, and Colonel Jagged Fel.”

Cheers rang through the halls of the imperial ships, congradulations were made… for once in a long time… the Empire was its old self, yet at the same time it was new… “Once again, this victory would not be possible with out our fine officers, so as a victory present… Each will receive a box of stolen donuts from the ISB…”

Three naval officers were outside a janitor’s closet where they thought they heard something. Opening the door they find two very very hot nurses cramped along with Lieutenant Solidisen, who was holding the intercom speaker. Sol switched it off, couldn’t stop from grinning…

“You see, I was just trying to raze the moral of the fleet…” trying his best to think something up he continued to talk to the three naval officers, “it all started four score, seven years ago…” Then all of a sudden running footsteps were heard, and voices of ISB agent’s shouts were herd. Looking at the Lieutenant, then looking down the hall at the angry donut-hungry driven ISB officer… on of the three officers said, “Bunk JH-331, 4 jelly donuts and a glazed.” Stepping away from the closet, allowing Sol to pass.

Sprinting down the corridor, the ISB agents gave chase, shouting at the three officers as they ran by. “One of these that man is going to be in high command…” “God forbid that ever happens” the secound officer said, as the third nodded and agreed. But the first of the three officers just stood there. “he will make it to high command, and I’d gladly serve under him.” With that he turned to the two still very very hot nurses that were left in the closet, “Have I ever told you two girls about the time I was in a skirmish? You see it all started four score….” As the officer talked, walking down the hall with a nurse on each arm, he though… ‘damn, the empire is back.’

I am extremely pleased to see this turn out as an Imperial victory. I do, however, hope that this is far from the last and that I will be able to assist the ER in future attempts when I make my return from the reserves. Congratulations to all of those who flew, both who triumphed and those who fell- you all deserve it.

I must say, I too was a bit suprised we did as well as we did, but I'm certainly glad, nonetheless. I think we really showed those Rebs what the Empire flies like, and hopefully we'll get to prove ourselves again soon. I'm working on something right now that'll let us do this.

Sol: Don't forget the baseball tournament going on in the hallways of the Nemesis. I K'd 17 batters and hit for the cycle to propel the Army to a commanding 3-0 lead in the best of 7 series against the Navy. On to Victory

See, if everyone enjoyed flying this skirmish, why don't we try to build a "Beyond Orus" like game on top of it? That way, our glorious leaders will get to do something, too. And the results of the flying will actually *mean* something. ;-)

This was the "trial run" to see how well I could get something going with another club - and, to my immense pleasure, it continued on even when I was gone for a month.

I was not able to fly, but I was present through most of the battle, and I am incredibly proud of my officers who participated - not just on the Chimaera, but in the Fleet as a whole. I have rarely been more proud of being the Senior Fleet Officer to our wonderful Navy.

As I said, I was also quite impressed, as I had expected a totally different outcome, what with the Rebel Squadrons' pilots having Week of War (WoW) and Outer Rim War (ORW) experience, as opposed to our pilots' experience from ladder matches amongst each other. Great job.

You got me interested. Since I don't play the actual games anymore, the strategic and tactical aspects of "Purge Orus"-style games is about the only thing that manages to catch my interest. As such, I am looking forward to any further developments.

If any of you would at all be interested, I could attempt to make a sort of skirmish or wargame idea between the ER and the ISD Colossus, the ship that I am posted on right now with the Emperor's Hammer. I personally think that it could prove to be interesting, even though it is not a Rebel online group such as the RS. Both groups are looking for more activities to do, and this could do it very well while at the same time make our apparent alliance actually do something.

But, once again, that is only a thought- if you would be interested in actually doing that though, please tell me and so that I may make arrangements.
