Yeah, news broke while I was driving home from work. Facebook feed is already lit up and I've got related voicemails. I do not expect this to end well.

On the IMPS FB page someone brought up a good point, is that Disney tends to be complete assholes about their IP, so there may be a potential risk to fan projects.

Just watched it. By the trailers I expected Disney to do the franchise nothing good - and though as expected the Expanded Universe is ignored, making the movie complete bollocks, IÂ´m still disappointed.

So IÂ´ll ignore it ...

JJ didn't disappoint with the lens flare and upscaled stuff either. It's basically a re-run of Episode IV, with more-more-more of everything.

Someone said to me, it was ok but if Episode VIII starts on an ice planet the Resistance has to evacuate, they would walk out. Heh.

Fel and I rate it firmly between ANH to ESB. Also, WHAT lens-flares? Have you SEEN the Star Trek stuff he did? It was like Lens Trek. I barely noticed even one flare in TFA. :p
But the details! Oooooh, the details! Did you see the consoles and computers? The Star Destroyer had a hangar control room!

FOOLS! YOU ARE ALL FOOLS! :p

Also: EU is 99% pure and utter shit! I don't know about you, but I own most of the non Vong & Old Republic books (and even some of these) and other than the X-Wing books, the Thrawn books and about five others, they are all complete and utter shit. Even the Thrawn books have stuff in them that is totally wrong (like calling C'baoth a "Dark Jedi" because there was no such thing as Sith back when the books were written). And the good stuff is completely unfilmable.
