Joystick Vista Calibration Problem

Post by COL Longstreet »

Gentlemen,

I have an issue that I could need some help with.

Recently installing an imperial campaign for XWA I tried playing and have a problem I had before and am not able to solve.

Using a Hama Outlandish joystick (yes, drivers installed) my X-Axis is totally messed up. On standard center position it is calibrated as complete left turn. So when playing I´m constantly drifting to the left. When shifting to the left no further reaction is there, naturally; and when shifting to the complete right it is calibrated to be the center position. All other functions are working correct.

Fact is with the Vista system calibration program I can´t calibrate and so can´t fly. Does anyone know a program or other idea how to fix this?

Have you tried unplugging the stick, holding it off-center, then plugging it back in again? I don't know if that would work, as it sounds like your stick is reporting a non-standard position scaling.

You can try over at the XWAUP forums and see if they've got a fix posted or know a way around it.

Already tried the unplugging-trick, doesn´t help. It´s also not XWA-related in the end. The system configuration software shows the problem, too, but can´t recalibrate.

Get a REAL stick and not something that is the equivalent of a 1990 AMIGA stick. Yes, that is a serious suggestion. :P
