Resignation

Post by tioneaudrine »

( seems the profanity filter caught alot -_- )

I expect this to be handled maturely, I wont hold my breath.

I joined when I quit the NRN. They were lazy and incompetant, they stated there the most active club and had a miriad of rules and requirements which werent upheld.

Alot like here.

Day 1 I was lied to and told Iota was the most active squadron in the club. Populated by a awol guy and the gf of the club owner. I was told they had regular competitions. That was a lie to get a active person to join the most inactive squadron in the club. I had to make and run a comp my third week in. Mind you it was a success and it seemed people enjoyed it. Had a good turn out to. This was the premise this club has shown me since.

Lazyness.

Now I could reinerate everything but you all know allready. Antilies is trying to have me court martialed again do to he stated since no one in the army is active he wont waste time trying to make things to get them active. I told him outright do your damn job or let someone who wants to help the army do it. He is still sore cause no one wanted to do a art comp for him. Do to such my squadron co will not speak to me fearing guilt by association.

Also I was lectured by Lathee... He informed me that I should remmeber this club is for fun and pointed out I am one of those who dont do it for fun.

I am waiting for the fun to start, I want to have fun but too many people are in positions where they have been for some time and know that at this point they dont have to do anything to keep it. I am constantly trying to motivate people and get people active. Personaly I am tired of wasting my breath.

I can count on one hand those I still have respect for in this club. Which is sad cause I really liked it here.

Toward the end I have been called a bitch, a tin pot goddess (whatever the hell that is), as well as numerous other slants by Munroe. He would delight daely in trying to get me to stop being active. This was after he pushed me to be active. In short when he quit CoA he stopped trying. I am still waiting on the HC to give a damn and tell him to stop. I put him on ignore but he found a way to keep in touch and be abusive toward me by challenging me to ladder matches. If I turn them down he gets points. He recently submitted a ladder match despite being told I could not move during the entire thing do to my well known lag issues.

All I wanted was the bear minimums of what the manuals state, you know those annoying tests we take saying do this do that? Why are they there if there not enforced? Reports being put out that are only rosters and the activity of there troopers not even listed cause it would take a extra three seconds to type it out. My squadron commander when I asked for comps told me, no comps wait for outer sectors if you want comps.

I am sick of trying, I am sick of doing my all for this club to be laughed at, insulted, sworn at, or worse.

I am also sick of the prochtor of justice not giving a damn about them doing it cause his sense of humour. I submitted a screenshot of the worst of Munroes abuse and no one cares.

So why should I waist my time with you all. So I am taking Munroes advice, not the go fuck myself, but the resign part.

sincerily,
Janice Truesdale

I trust that all posts in this thread will remain respectful and polite. Otherwise, bad things might happen.

I shall start off then. I am truly saddened to see this page. You were an active officer. I remember how shocked I felt when you blew us away in the FPR competition. I always tried to defend you in those tifs I witnessed. You were partly to blame in some of them, but your goal was always the same: stir activity in the club. A noble cause, to be sure. In a few instances, however, the ends did not justify the means. You DID make the odd attack on members, specifically Mike Mar and Antillies.

On this note, let me point out that questioning a commanding officer's compitence will NEVER end well, and I can not for the life of me understand WHY you would resort to that. Furthermore, you certainly DO NOT tell a highly decorated and valued member of the GE how to do their job. That is insubordination and borderline treason. While this club is for fun, it was still founded upon a military hierarchy, and must maintain that system. In short: DON'T TELL YOUR SUPERIORS HOW TO DO THEIR JOBS!

I have always admired your determination to spurr activity. Your comps were excellent. However, trying to start a new one every week doesn't work, as hardly anyone has that much free time to participate. Still, a valiant effort. In conclusion, I am saddened to see you go. I know many won't share that feeling, for various reasons be they good or bad. But I will. I hope you will return someday and bring your desire for activity with you (within limits. no more trying to provoke superiors into activity.)

Audrine,

I know that your conduct and behaviour often was ... controversial, and I´m sorry for any bad that happened to you because of it; but your personal activity and service was excellent and exemplary - and for this you have my thanks and my respect.

I hope that you´ll be able to enjoy your further life; and that maybe at a time you´ll rescope your mind and return to duty.

Ah... the will and determination to change the world. Or in this case, just this little online club. Oh, what a double edged sword it can be!

I've been on both sides of this whole argument and have seen many club internal discussions, fights and wars over whose ideas and concepts are better, more suited to the imperial ideal (whatever that is :P), generate more activity and are generally the holy grail of online Star Wars club management. My findings? They're all wrong. And they are all right.

Some people prefer a formal style with lots of saluting in chats and their concepts of a proper military protocol being followed everywhere, others enjoy a vastly more casual approach and leave the saluting to the occasional fiction that is being written here and there. There are people who care about nothing but flying new missions, whereas others are purely interested in one on one online combat. Yet another person likes taking part in large scare competitions with lots of fictional background and some kind of club meta plot that advances the time line and then there's people who just like to see their name on an imperial roster, hang around in the club chat and the message boards, talk to his buddies and friends he's known for years and hope work doesn't raise its ugly head all too often.

Guess what? There's a tiny little corner for all of those types in the Empire, where they can settle in and be happy. You can attempt to motivate people to go and try different things, but if they don't want to, just let them be. It's not like people will die if we perform poorly.

When I read your post and started to reply, I was looking for quotes on the subject of change... (if anyone says "Yes we can" now, I swear I'll find out who you are, where you live and the next Sunday morning at 6am, a pair of Jehovah's witnesses will knock on your door. Mark my words!)... where was I? Right... I was looking for quotes to throw around so I would come across as smart, witty and brilliant as ever, and I actually found a very good one:

"If you don't like something, change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it." ~Mary Engelbreit

And no, the fact that it wasn't someone like Epicurus, Shakespeare, Nietzsche or Schopenhauer who said it doesn't make the point less valid. :P

P.S.: I never got an e-mail from you about Munro Burton. The only two mails I have from you have a subject line of "Re: Cadets" and I was only CCed on that.

Sighs, while I appreciate the kind words many have put here I will not be returning. The clubs self defeatest attitude and the way they wish to have active people then try to pound said people into inactivity has basicly made me resentful. Especialy the open hypocrasy...

I joined the Vast Empire. I like there regimented structure more.

Tione,

I once played Vast Empire when I was younger but I could never seem to get the know how to play it because it said for one that you had to install MIRC to complete your basic training but I don't know if that is true now but yes I do like how both the Army and the Navy have NCO ranks which makes it fair to members of both divisions of the game. But on the other hand the GE seems easier for me to play in my point of view because yes it may be more laid back but for the resouces I have to an online Star Wars Online Fanesy game I do not have much of so the GE will have to do for now!!

Also the reason why all of the Navy members in the GE have commissiones is because on real life warships bridge crew and pilots are usually officers but I like the Army becae you have to work for your commission so it makes it more challenging!!

I have a question how do you play VE is it like similer to the GE?

Good Luck In RL!!

Respectfully CPL Zala

if a more regimented structure was what you were looking for and found in VE, then fantastic. Enjoy your time with them.

Oh, forgot to say this - seeing how she was obviously Mirei, shouldn't we tell the other clubs about his/her/"this thing's" new name? :P
