Hi Guys recruiting

Post by LT Kiles »

Hi guts greating and muchas gracias for all the things that out High Command does for this great establishment.

I know we have some resignations and Awol problems but we will get through it. Well we are allways looking for new recruits and i know that we are all trying out best. Personally there are not really any cadets in the academy so we have to start going back out there and I personally gotta start recruiting some. (i never did earn one of those recruiting medals ) I know im just babbling but i want to know what everyone else thinks we should try to do. Cause i still love to play Xwing Allaince and XvT and uh Jedi Academy.

I know we have all been strached and been past our own limitations as a Clan

Ahem... we are not a "clan". That is all.

Unfortunately, recruiting is much easier said than done with the older platforms that we support. Yes, there are new platforms coming out that may increase attention for our Army, but the sad truth is the Navy does not have that luxury. The only thing I can think of is some sort of recruiting drive based on the MSN Gaming Zone, obviously be sure to clearly state that we are not a clan, and work on getting some of the people who continue to play our games there.

The other problem is recruiting people who can be active. Numbers on our roster mean nothing. I have had this problem with a couple of my recruits, who did not even make it off of the Imperial Academy rosters. This saddens me quite frankly, but at a point becomes beyond my control.

Another remotely decent option would be to make a recruiter for each division of the GE, receiving their own training of sorts in appropriately getting people to enlist, and maybe even adding some things of their own to the GE recruiting office to suit their own needs and run their operations. Some sort of work within the Imperial Academy on their part may also prove to work somewhat well. This could prove to work extremely well, if done properly. And yes, being a recruiter would work best being a temporary duty assignment instead of a full time posiiton.

But, limitations are endless for recruiting, just as long as we don't go around spamming out other message boards or chat rooms with requests to join. There are other, far superior ways that will not make us appear desperate, but instead as organized as we would like.

It is time for my most self proclaimed brilliant idea :D
What if there was a Rebel page out there that we could go to war with?
We could distribute a certain mission, and match up people on different squadrons, and the person with the highest score would score a kill against his opponent. We could also have a jail page where we could capture people, and make them get a high score on a mission before they could get out. I know this sounds absurd, but I think it would really work out. Not only would this up intrest in SW RPGs, but it would make our dear dwindling empire more exciting than it already is. Just to make sure everybody gets the idea I'm trying to communicate, I'll set up an example.

Say July 30th was the "battle date."
We could say Red 1-4 go against Epsilon 1-4. We would give them a certain mission, and by the end of the battle, at most a couple of days later, they would send their high score in to a set scorekeeper. The person with the highest score would get a kill marker on their ID line, or profile page.

I've got it all worked out in my head, so if anyone has any questions about it just post here. Most likely we couldn't do it, but if we could, that would be awesome!!!! :P

It's these sorts of ideas, that if put to use properly, could truly make the GE something simply amazing. I know many of you out there, myself included, have ideas like this that have not yet been shared. Perhaps one day we should get together and put these ideas together, and make them a reality. Yes, it could even prove to attract new members.

On a more dismal note relating to this however, it is all easier said than done. That is quite unfortunate. But, with some good time and effort, anything is more than possible- it can happen.

I can program in HTML. Give me a domain and I'll make it into a rebel scum base that we can battle.

CLAN CLUB WHATEVER

The idea about the Gaming Zone is good. Allso the Rebel idea is not too far out.( i would certainly like any competition that would help keep activity up. I mean our Ladders are great.( though they could show a little bit more participation levels but i admit Ive only been able to play A game with Steel and Splatter and MSG Drakhar) i guess that is partially because of the TimeZones we live in and the time of day that we have time to fly. Three years ago Steel Recruited me from the zone and we played a game lol it was all i asked for then. I know that people Want to fly because they are signed up for the Ladders. Most of the time its hard to find another person who wants to play. Maybe recruiting on the Zone or trying to Officialy of unofficially participate in Week Of War (WoW) at the last week of everymonth on on the MSN gaming Zone. The reason being we know that other clans or CLUBS or whatever you want to deny we are; will be competing there everymonth on the dot. A pluss is that we would not really have to keep score cause BattleStats.com would do all that for us. Even if the Participation levels where low I mean if everyone in the XvT ladders and XWA ladder signed up for a Team it would be a dangerous thread in StarWars Zone universe. Help the Members who have trouble finding other people to fly again. Would allso help us expand out reputation on the Zone while we compete
LT kiles I know it sounds like alot but its not really its more so a little leap in a different direction

I found it!!! A rebel site just like ours. It's called Rebel Squadrons. Just do a MSN Search for Star Wars Rebel RPG. It is scary how close to us it is. I think it's www.rebelsquadrons.org, but I'm not sure.

Try that link. His didn't go to it because of the comma that got stuck in at the end, although the URL was basically correct.

lol

hey man, this is realy a good idea (and others already had that 1 or 2 years back) but think of it again, we can´t even get a ladder well filled with people who then actualy also play.......how do you guy´s think we could get such a thing working?!

as said, it´s sure a cool thing, but it won´t work

just my 2 cents

I hate to say it, but LT Splatter has uncovered a sad truth about this matter, and I personally doubt that even getting more recruits will fix it all that much. Maybe some sort of additional enticement to play will increase people's activity... but on the contrary, you'd think we had enough with the awards. In my opinion, it is still worth a try though, even if it is only once and fails horribly. Otherwise, we will never learn if it is truly a good idea or not. It would seem logical to wait a little while though, and allow the GE some more time to regroup and get prepared.
