Address to the Army

Officers of the Army,

As you all are aware, General Branet is in temporary command of the Brigade subsequent to Faeroth's removal from command. Many of you are also aware of the incident between the GE and the ID, which has now died down, with several departures from our Army.

Along with the above departures, Captain Nickoli has been transferred to the Reserves due to RL reasons. What does this mean? Well, I am throwing the door open to applications for Brigade CO, Spearhead CO and Spearhead XO. Send them to me and General Branet.

Additionally, due to low membership numbers for JO and JA members, Raider has been decommissioned and Demon is now redesignated as the JO/JA company, somewhat similar to Viper for BF/BF2.

Please bear in mind that if there are any questions you have, I can be contacted directly by email or on MSN/IRC.

Finally, I would like to welcome our new members - a couple who have already signed up to the ladders and done some Academy exams. You know who you are and your activity is a refreshing change from the usual newbies we get.

To avoid double post, this is my edit.

This Seldom-intelligent fellow (Selden, is it) lacks the common sense of a demented rat, though one of those would be more desirable subjects.

I got to page four before I felt my glasses lose their potency (now phoning to schedule an optometrist appointment) and got no further, since I felt I got the point to a degree. I got the idea that the kid has some serious emotional problems, not limited to a hunger for power in any form, probably fueled by a dysfunctional life circumstances (abusive parents, lacking social life etc.). I think that its long rants without basis, fact, or even sense to them was very disappointing. I felt cheated for the minutes of reading I spent on its posts. Someone ought to take it out behind a chemical shed and put it out of its misery.

I feel pity for it, but I don't think that it deserves any less than what it's receiving. In other words, I'm happy to see the GE not take his nonsense.

The whole "Mouth of Sauron" bit it played for its big Khan boss was rather pathetic, seeing the fact this Khan guy couldn't muster the courage to address the GE himself. I don't know how he handles running the ID without being able to use some online courage for 20 energy points.

Anyway, before I go overboard, since I can't cover all of what I felt while reading, I'll just say that the main sentiment I felt was that Selden really needs to go to eBay.com and type "life" into the search bar and hit Enter. It'd probably have a better chance if it went back to school and got a basic elementary education, but we can't always get what we wish for, yes?

*Sigh* I keep thinking of more things I'd like to add, but it would go on too long, also many of you fine gentlemen and officers already touched on some of the things I'd like to add, so I'll be satisfied with your responses. Still, I feel that the kid really needs to get his life together more before he starts picking on others' conducts online. Priorities, people?

Jhredmo: Yeah, that sums it up pretty nicely. Well, I really had fun with that thread. I loved pointing out the total obvious flaws in their logic and ( to a much greater extent in the emails not shown here ) in Khan's "arguments", which were at once ignored and never brought up again.

In the end, I can just repeat what I said at the end of that thread:
I feel sad that some people actually couldn't even see through all that bullshit. I love how they were supposedly getting "all those people" from us, yet until today they have not even six. And three of those were cheaters who now post "how they were never respected here" on the ID MBs.

Thank you, System Governor Vortagh, sir. I thought your posts were extremely well written and kept the ID dog at bay. I relate with your sentiment on poking craters in their logic and how they (or the singular "it") continued to contradict themselves with every other sentence, let alone each post.

It really is a pity that some don't possess the intellect to objectively look at the whole scene and attempt to obtain a clearer perspective, rather than dogmatically insisting their own biased opinion to no advantage. Ah, well. Their loss, yes, sir?

Thank you all for your replies. It's nice to know I have a somewhat clear perspective of my own on the subject.

You will find that members of the GE are, for the most part, more mature and good-natured than their counterparts in other SW clubs. This is a good thing.

As LC La Forge pointed out, many GE members are older than the typical "Clans/Clubs" members. This can also be observed by the [LSM-xS] medals carried by some of us. I am glad to see maturity in your opinion.

Now, let's all imagine that Fel joined the GE at the age of 12. He would still got a respectful 20 years old. Pretty impressive.
