greetings High Command.

I recently managed to aquire Adobe After Effects CS3 Professional, a DVD decrypter, a video converter, and a digital copy of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

I was wondering if you'd mind if I designed a recruitment video for the GE: ER.

Let me know what you think. With the DVD decrypter I could probably take footage from the classic Starwars movies as well.

We can't make use of the LucasArts movies as part of our recruitment campaign. Those sorts of things tend to attract lawsuits, and we don't need that headache. IF you were to make an original movie - that would be extremely impressive and helpful. People have had success with recording footage from games (e.g. Empire at War and Jedi Outcast), which might be a better start.

I looked up the ID recruitment video and they seem to use the IMPS Relentless footage. Whether or not IMPS has given permission for them to use that, I don't know...

yeah. I doubt it, but you never know.
Also, I've used purely game footage. all original. It should be fully uploaded shortly.

CALLING ALL GE MEMBERS! I NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE OUR NEW RECRUITMENT VIDEO!

due to the stupidity of my PC, I can only use EAW to record game footage. However, if other GE memebers would use a program called FRAPs, you could record your own game footage, and then send it to me for a compilation to make our recruitment vid. Using FRAPs is simple. Just download it, double clikc the shortcut, then fire up your game. When you get to a seen you want to record, press the f9 key. Please not that the recording will only last 24 seconds, so after that time you will have to press it again to record another clip. When you have some footage you like, send it to me so that we can put it together with the other footage.

Sorry, sir. I didn't get a chance to watch it all the way through in my radio station's studio. I do have a couple suggestions that you may want to consider for improvement.

To begin, the text font could use a change and a little spicing up (silver font colour, perhaps). A personal request, from me, though, would be proper caps ( <<-- Grammar obsessive) at the beginning of thoughts.

I think you should add some more messages in between shots. Maybe, "Feel the power..." after an exciting or explosive scene (like after the Corellian Corvette explodes) and other stuff like that. I saw the ones you already have, but a few more would help, I think.

If you could possibly boost the lighting in the video in certain scenes where it's awfully dim, it would look a lot better. I could note the time on those scenes, if you like.

Also, I'd like to hear the music come right to the end (and fade at the last 3-5 seconds, if it had to) of the video rather than drop off before the end, even though it could go for a few more seconds, then fade. Just a thought.

That's about it for my suggestions. I'd like to bore you with me praise now, if you don't mind.
The scenes you used were excellent (thank [s]God[/s]-- the Emperor for BattleCam), especially with your use and timing of clips. It flowed in theme and continued at a good pace. The text came across well, but best of all was your finale. It concluded with a majestic Imperial victory, which was very good in timing.

Anyway, I'll take my leave now with a final thank you for a very good piece of promotional material.
