In the Empire, the law breaks YOU

Just for tradition's sake, I let a week pass before announcing the result of the latest court martial that was held before the Emperor's Court. The case was S-00005, the Galactic Empire vs. Lance Corporal Wetere. Yes, another one. Yes, once again someone seemed to be too overwhelmed by the sheer complexity of our rules and regulations. Yes, it... stop interrupting me and allow me to present the summary, will you?

The charges:

one (1) count of Insubordinate Conduct Towards High Officials
two (2) counts of False Statements

The former was a highly inappropriate behavior in a private chat conversation with the newly appointed army commander, Major General Burton, the latter was yet another case of overestimating one's abilities to sneak a couple of clones into one's own unit to further one's career.

Well, umm, yeah. Awesome.

It might, of course, have been easier to further one's career by, oh, I don't know... showing good manners in a conversation with one's division commander and by concentrating more on doing some actual work with his main GE character, but then again, I have only been a member of this club since early 1999 and Wetere is obviously an expert at devising clever schemes and insulting Generals, so what do I know?

Seriously, though, if you are interested in a career in this organization, don't even think about breaking any regulations for it, as the only thing this will get you is an appointment with the wrecking ball of justice. With you being the wreck afterwards.

In this case, the Lance Corporal pleaded guilty on all charges and stated that he regretted his actions. He also seemed to have outgrown his earlier childish behavior and proposed to apologize to all parties affected by his actions. As such, I saw fit to merely demote him to the rank of Private First Class and require a public apology from him. Naturally, his clones have been removed from the roster.
