<VA_JagFel> 1) Officers' Manual Major Upgrade
<VA_JagFel> Since the last meeting, a great amount of my free time as been expended working on the Officers' Manual. There were three phases of upgrade to the manual: technical, cosmetic, and content.
<VA_JagFel> The technical upgrade brought much of the extremely old HTML code into a much more modern state... Some of the elements in the manual had remained unchanged since the very first version... In any event, maintenance of the manual has become *much* easier, and as such the manual is much more likely to remain current.
<VA_JagFel> The second is the cosmetic upgrade: the left side Javascript menu is gone, as well as the frame based layout... The new style resembles that of the old, but has improvements throughout.
<VA_JagFel> The final is the content upgrade; various items in the manual were out of date; specifically the Empire at War sections. These have all been updated, and various pages have received long-overdue updates, spelling corrections, and so on.

<VA_JagFel> The OGMA has been merged into the Officers' Manual. The OGMA predated the manual by several years, and as such it had always existed as a separate document. However, given the fact that the manual was receiving a major upgrade, I have decided to merge it as a section of the manual. Likewise, the Medal Awarding Theory - a guide for evaluating medal requests - has been merged.

<VA_JagFel> 3) Imperial Navy Rank Change
<VA_JagFel> This does not directly impact anyone right at this moment, as no-one holds the rank at the present time, but the rank of Second Lieutenant has been eliminated from the Navy. Having been abbreviated 2LT, it did not fit correctly in the navy's two-character rank abbreviation system. This rank has been replaced with Lieutenant Junior Grade (LJ), which is equivalent in all but name. Information on the rank may of course be found in the manual.

<VA_JagFel> The LFD Image Reader has been posted, this utility is for TIE95 and can read the images and animations used in-game.
<VA_JagFel> Images and animation frames are saved as bitmaps, currently there is no way to import images using LIR.

<VA_JagFel> TIE File Reader has been updated, mostly a code rewrite and .zip packaged, but it also doesn't keep the file open the entire time the program is running anymore.

<VA_JagFel> There's a couple more updates in the works, both for TSE and YOGEME, mainly code rewrites. Also looking into a better image conversion method when writing to bitmap or back into .lfds so the program doesn't hang.
<VA_JagFel> I also have plans for yet another utility, this one will eventually allow full editing of cutscenes and concourses. In a sense, anything that doesn't involve a joystick.

<CD_Junon> 1. A TIE Mission Creation Course created by SL Khadgar (hopefully) will be posted this week to the Academy site.

Secondly, the staff of the Academy along with a number of other High Command members is working on developing a "EaW Multiplayer Supremacy Course" that should be forthcoming in the next several weeks. This course (in its current form) will be quite different than any other existing courses - both in material and in format.
