SENIOR FLEET OFFICER’S REPORT
Sector Group 1 News (ISD Chimaera):
With AWOL and deserted officers removed, the Chimaera has been reduced to just two squadrons (Alpha and Iota under Lieutenants Phantom and Muscat, respectively) with a combined total of a whopping seven officers. I’m not going to talk about this anymore because I get misty-eyed when I think about what has happened to my beautiful ship.
Sector Group 2 News (ISD Nemesis):
Commander Wedge is now the acting-captain of the other ship in the Fleet. Congratulations to him on that one (though it is a dubious honor, at best). I can only extend my best wishes that he does not remain acting-captain as long as I did when I was in a similar situation (I still hold the record for the longest time spent in the rank of “commander†– twenty seven months. We can thank the guy ahead of me for that one. But more about that later.) However, I will say that to their credit, the Nemesis does appear to have four active lieutenants. That’s a good thing.
Fleet News (the rest of the GE):
Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the last couple weeks you know that the Imperial Army has formally been launched. Congratulations and good luck to General Jansen and his cadre of Army officers. The first army unit activated is the Nemesis Brigade, stationed on the – you guessed it – ISD Nemesis. Current platforms are Galactic Battlegrounds (a great game) and Force Commander (a not-so-great game). Expect Battlefront support when it is released. I’m thinking that this will make or break the Army depending on how well it is able to embrace Battlefront.
As has been stated numerous times by other individuals, part of our current problem is that there is a general lack of interest in Star Wars gaming. Hopefully Battlefront will help that situation.
As I understand it, many new and exciting things are happening in the Empire (new because we’ve never done it before and exciting because…well…it just is). The “fat is being trimmed†so to speak, and while this will make us appear smaller, the fact is that we are finally just coming to grips with our depleted membership.
There will be more reorganization coming soon, but most of you will just have to wait and see what that is.
If you haven’t already done so, check out the Imperial Archives at <http://databank.empirereborn.net/>. In the personnel section you may write a biography of your character as well as read what others have written. In the General Archives section there are several pieces of fiction written by myself and other officers. Feel free to contribute your own.
Promotions:
None recent that I am aware of. I believe Commander Longstreet’s promotion was the last recorded. However, if I’ve forgotten someone you have my apologies.
Demotions:
Oh, they’re coming.
Resignations:
This really isn’t a category I like to write about, since to me it seems more like I’m writing an obituary. But oh well, here it goes…
The Galactic Empire recently witnessed the resignations of two talented and long serving officers: Moff Vortagh and Line Captain Steel.
Captain Steel, in addition to being an extraordinary pilot, made a name for himself as a junior officer in a recruiting drive. His service included time spent on the older VSDs as well as both the ISD Chimaera, as squadron leader in Alpha, and on the ISD Nemesis as both first officer and captain. He performed excellently in the wargames Supremacy 2 and Operation Purge Orus – in the former under my own command in the White Fleet, and in the latter under then-Rear Admiral Syrtaras in the Rogue Imperial Fleet. In both capacities Steel was instrumental in bringing each fleet their victories.
Moff Vortagh has had one of the most lengthy and decorated careers in Imperial history. Serving as squadron commander of Gamma (twice), as first officer of the VSD Striker, Senior Fleet Officer and captain of the Chimaera, Director of Imperial Research, and finally as Moff of the Imperial Civil Guild, his career has been a shining example of loyalty and dedication to the Empire. From his creation and hosting of the “Imperial Squadrons.net†server and messageboards to his constant presence in Imperial communications, Vortagh has set a legacy not easily matched. It was my pleasure to serve as his second-in-command not once, (as first officer when he commanded the flagship) but twice (as a sub-lieutenant when he commanded Gamma). While he could be brash and outspoken very often, there could never be any doubt that he served the Empire first and foremost.
Conclusion:
That’s it for now. As always, I’m available for questions and comments.

One can only wonder who is up for a possible demotion, but we will all soon find out, and they will probably be done for the better or at least with good reason. With the GE making a significant downsize presently, it seems that demotions are practically called for whether we like them or not.
As for the rest of the report, I will agree that is was done in an excellent matter, and done short, sweet, and to the point. Some of it actually seems borderline depressing, further uncovering the sad state of portions of the GE. Lost leaders, a devastating but needed AWOL check, and two capital ships now holding enough members combined that is at best good for one vessel. But under the controls of great leaders like Line Captain Calder here, things should all work out for the best.

Sorry. My mistake then.
And thanks to everyone who seems to like the report...but it's just a report, after all. It shouldn't be so novel. After all, I'm just doing my job here.
