Introduction
==========

Damn, it's been a long time. *dusts off the datapad* Let's see, August. So... *pulls out an abacus* six months Oops. Well, this report is either going to be full to the brim, or devoid of anything since I can't remember half of it. You know, I should probably keep better track of this, but I'm a busy Admiral, so there.

News (old as it is, and in no particular order)
==========

CM Junon has returned from the depths of the Reserves and taken Striker XO!
CM Junon has been promoted to Line Captain and Nemmy CO! Huzzah! Welcome back, Captain.

CD Wedge has stepped down from Tac, and CL Mar has been promoted to Commodore and our new Tactical Officer. Already CD Mar has published a handful of EaW missions of his own.
By the way, we have EaW missions now! At the moment they are all space battles, and technically skirmishes, but let's just blame that on Petroglyph and the horrible editor they gave to us.
And because we have EaW missions now, I can finally close that blasted EaW competition! That ran for well over a year with only one or two applicants during the entire duration. Congrats to CD Mar!

The Emperor's Court has been busy, this time with Lieutenant Selden. We've unfortunately gone down this path a few times now, and yet people still don't seem to get it. There's also been a case or two on the Army side as well. DON'T CHEAT!

OuterSectors 2!
Those of you who were around the the original OS know how this goes (and how close I lost, *glares at Mar*). The premise of this campaign is a historical one; GA Daemon is still in command, FA Fel is still a Lieutenant and his squadron has "defected" to the Rebels to infiltrate it. New missions are released bi-weekly, and this can go on for a while. Everyone should be participating!

ICTE
The GE has had a very strong showing in the recent months, with taking first for over 10 weeks in a row, and placing top 3 for most weeks in the past several months. More people are starting to show up, but we need more! All multiplayer platforms are supported, and it's a great way to be spotted by Scimitar (or the Guard if you're a ground-pounder). Come out and play!

OuterSectors
Host: The GE
Status: Ongoing
-OuterSectors is a GE-wide campaign, all officers are encouraged to participate. Complete missions from the Combat Chamber, write fiction, create graphics, do anything you can to get involved. This will last a while, so it's not too late to start!

Ladders
Host: The GE
Status: Open!
-The ladders are an (almost) always ongoing way to be active in the Empire. Pilots and ground troops face off against one another, and everyone who wins and and everyone who plays gets points. Ace of the Month
==========

Every report will feature one whose exploits are applaudable. The Ace is one who has shown dedication above and beyond, be it either in combat, overall activity, or even an epic quote on IRC. Enjoy the bragging rights for a while.

Commodore Mar, for not only being ridiculously active in the ICTE and taking home plenty of wins for the GE, but also for kick-starting the Tactical Office again! There's mission flowing again, both for EaW and even some of the old ones are getting looked at again with fresh eyes. It's a good start, keep it up!

Ew*k of the Month
==========

Every report will will also feature one whose exploits are... less than ideal. The ew*k itself is an endangered species, thanks to the carelessness of the Rebels. Those that know me are aware of the cages I keep in the IDMR laboratories, the contents of which are used for testing or sometimes target practice. Fortunately (or unfortunately), the type of people that earn the Ew*k of the Month "award" are plentiful, so even if the little buggers no longer fill my cages, there will always been a bountiful supply of officers as substitutes.

The EotM goes to former-LT Selden. CHEATING NEVER PAYS, WE WILL FIND YOU. There's nothing more I have to say about that.

Personal Section
==========

Wow, so what's happened with me since August... I'm in Philly at the moment working again, essentially 12 hour days with the drive. YOGEME is progressing pretty well, aside from general code cleanup and tweaks work is being done on the map interface. I've also started PHP so I can help with site coding as our primary code monkey has gone to the Reserves.

Oh, G3RLM has happened since the last report, and I'm cursing my schedule for not having a large gap so I can go to Germany again. That was a lot of fun, even if I did drink too much too fast one night... Even then, I wasn't the worst off :-P

I'll be back at school in a few weeks, so that means my free time will go up a lot again. That means more programming work gets done, so all of you minions can be happy :-)

Standing Orders
==========

1. Be in contact

There are loads of ways to be in contact, and e-mail is just one of them. Many officers are available on AOL Instant Messenger, and some even on MSN Messenger, both of which are free downloads. Xfire is gaining popularity after being adopted by the Empire, so that is another official method of contact. If you do use Xfire, please post your screen name into the Xfire thread on the Message Boards so you can be invited to the GE's Xfire clan, or contact an existing member. Some people are also on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) all the time (myself included), so please do come by! #galactic_empire on the Undernet network. We're friendly (as long as you're well behaved) and would be very glad to have you join us.

2. Recruit

The Empire is always in need of new officers, so if you know somebody who'd like to join, or if you just want to go out on IRC, the MSN Gaming Zone, or even public servers and find people, that's very much encouraged. If you can find a way to lure someone in, do it! And if you can't find a way, there are chemicals that make coercion easier. There's potentially medals involved!

3. Fly

I'd really like to see lots of people flying, whether on the ladders, single player, ICTE, anything. It doesn't have to take much time, it's a lot of fun, and can be very effective. There's quite a bit of activity on the EaW ladders, at not a whole lot coming from the XvT and XWA pilots recently. Get moving!

4. Have Fun!

That's the most important part of the whole thing. This is why we're here. The most fun can be found in point 3.

5. Fly some more

Seriously, fly a lot. It's fun, you get to blow stuff up. And it makes you look good ;-)
