My dear Brigade,
After a long time of planning the Brigade-Competition “Iron Mountain†is finally finished and starts exactly ... now.
All members of the Brigade, including the company-COs but excluding myself, are allowed and most encouraged to take part in it and it´s numerous events.
The system is really easy. For every event you take part and for every submission you´ll get a specific number of points.
Note that I´ll not say how many points are awared for anything. You can use your mind and think about what could be worth more points then something else; but I want you take part in as many as possible events without just deciding on how many points you can get.
The winner of a event, if enough people take part in it and a winner can be choosen, will get bonus points and a medal. The 3 people with the most points will be the winners of the competition and will receive a medal as well, which is depending no the number of points and participants.
The key to all is that you take part. Without enough participation there is no competition. The events are spread on many areas and all of you should be able to take part in several of them.
The competition ends on the 27th of June [EDIT: expanded deadline], until then all submissions must be made, and the results will be announced on the 1st of July.
And one more thing, read carefully!
Lets come to the first row of events – combat.
It´s really easy, you are allowed to compete against every member within this Brigade, see it as rewarded training.
The thing that makes it easy is that the rules, beside that only 1 vs. 1 is allowed, are whatever you two agree on. You can set yourself objectives, make a match for 16 hours if you like or set a limit of e.g. 15 frags, whatever you like. Note that also a draw is eligible as result.
The only thing is that after the match BOTH of you need to report the match per mail to me (friederleimenstoll@gmx.de) stating the results and your rules. If only one of you reports to me the match is not rated till the other one reported, too.
There are 4 events of combat: JA, GB, other Navy-games and other Army-games (note that EaW can be use for Navy or Army here, depending if you choose land- or space-battle). With enough participation the winner of each of those events can expect a [IVC] and some bonus points.
Now to the numerous non-combat events.
Note that winning an event always gets you bonus points.
The first event is the Company-Fiction. The rules are easy, but more clear then in the combat events. Each member of the Brigade is allowed to submit 1 piece for each company (doesn´t matter which of those is yours), so everyone is allowed to write a piece of fiction for Raider-Company (sent to CPT Felth [davinfelth82@hotmail.com] with copy to me) AND for Spearhead-Company (sent to ALT Kevin [kevinmeister_flute@hotmail.com] with copy to me). You must write at least 1 page with a writing of 10pt, but please no 12 pages or so. Topics are as you wish as long as connected to the respective company (but don´t let the actual officers die!). The winners for each of the two companies will get a [LoC].
Now to the second event – the Brigade-Fiction. The rules are nearly the same. Only one submission allowed, but that must be sent to all 3 COs, so to CPT Felth, ALT Kevin and to myself. Of course the topic must be related to the whole Brigade. The winner will again get a [LoC].
On to the third event – the much needed Brigade-Banner. Whatever it contains is your beer. Think about what you´d like on a official banner and do so. The only restrictions are that
if there is anything written on it (and there must be) only standart or standart + Aurabesh are allowed, ONLY english and it must have a version of the imperial seal! You may submit as many banners as you like, but they must be sent to CPT Felth, ALT Kevin and to myself. Winner expect a [MoM].
Next is the Brigade-Motto. Yes, we need one. So you may submit as many as you with again. Note that in this event you are given points if you take part, but it doesn´t matter how many you submit. Only real rule: English!. Send the submissions to CPT Felth, ALT Kevin and to myself. And if you´re the winner a [MoM] is yours.
Now to a more difficult event – the Brigade-Website. The expectations, well, my expectations, of a page are not the highest possible for sure, but there are some. Only 1 submission is allowed. You must either load up the page somewhere or send me the files so I can check them offline, whatever you wish. It should be possible to host the page through our GE-domain later. There are some things I request here, so I´ll list them.
- the first screen must state who we are
- an either toplinked or leftlinked menu
- a roster of the Brigade, sorted like the official roster
- a display of the Uniforms, sorted like the official roster
- a page where the results of the Brigade-Fiction and the Brigade-Banner will be publiced.
- it must follow the HoloSite Policies as stated in the Officer´s Manual (so check it out!)
- a page where competitions can be listed
- a page for/about the BRG-CO/XO and BRG-HQ
- a page where the individual detailed results of this competition will be hosted (a list for each event, for each member and a list with ranking per points)
and most important
- you must be willing to keep this site up to date as long as you´re in service or a new website is choosen
Expect a [MoM] for this.
Now to a most easy event. Your roster profiles and the admin system. You (hopefully) know that we have a system that allows you to make several updates on your profile and much more. If you already use the system – good. If you don´t or don´t even know that it exists – change this. On your profile there are 2 parts you can in a premade form do on your own. The “Character Profile Data†and the “Personal Profile Dataâ€. So I want you to go to the admin system and update those two areas. I have a list of yours here so I can see the changes, but please, write me a mail about it, too. Note that in this event there are neither winners nor medals nor bonus points; here you can just collect some easy points.
To come to another field maybe not easy, but useful in many aspects – our dear Academy. Many of you have graded many exams and have shown skill in completing numerous combat certifications. To be true for those this might be more difficult, but we´ll see. The system is easy, you don´t even need to write a mail for this as I get all needed information automaticly. Easy system. For every BCC, ACC or Exam you grade you´ll get points, and bonus points if an exam is graded with 100% of scores. In the end the one with the most points in this event will get a [LoC].
The last event is the Brigade-Trivia. There will be 12 questions about the Brigade and you must get the answers. No premade answers, you must find them on your own. As some of the questions will be “historic†you´ll have to use several sources of information without mailing to General Jansen “Sir, I have some questions, to be true 12 at all!â€, but be sure that the answers can be found somewhere in the GE. The winner is “First with the Most†and will get a [LoC].
[EDIT: The questions are now sent out and can also be found in the following post.]
Sounds pretty much at all? It is, but it means many many medals! Note that with time there may (!) come additional events. Be sure if this happens you´ll get the respective mails and it will of course be on the MB.
The overall winners, means the 3 with the most points (it´s not important how many single events have been won for this) will get some medals, too, of course. Depending on the number of participants and points this may (!) go up till the precious [IVM-GB], which has only been awarded 4 times till now. So in your own interest and for the others just take part whereever possible, there´s much time till the 24th.
If you have any questions about this feel free to mail me and/or post on the respective topic on the MB.
I have the honor to be, respectfully, with great affection,
For the Glory of the Empire,
James Longstreet,

Now the general results of this competition.
With great sadness I have to say that the participation was a catastrophe. 12 events, a whole dozen, and only 2 of them have been used. So the competition for this time has failed, and no overall winners and awards.
A version of this competition will come again, so there´s always hope.
However the actual participation warants 2 particular awards.
The winner of the academic event is LCP Nickoli with 7 points, who´ll get a [LoC] for his good work in this area.
Then there is another [LoC], this time to ALT Kevin, for the simple reason for being the only member who participated in 2 events. I know that in general this wouldn´t mean very much, but in this situation it does.
So congrats to the 2, and remember there´ll be another on later with the hope of much greater participation.

It´s not mean to the other members of the GE, but the sense of a Brigade-Competition is to boost activity in a certain Brigade.
Seeing the not very pleasing results it will be some time till I´ll do another on of these, but will work on another one for GE or Army within next months as time is very limited for me.
And Selden, I was pretty sure that you´d do that!
