DonÂ´t loose hope. Never. Just stay active.

Remember the ICTE, there you should find some who play your games I think. Also take part in non-combat. And if you manage to make your presence here more ... comfortable for the others, too, you can look forward to a promotion within some weeks.

And you can also talk to your COs if you think youÂ´ve earned a promotion, be sure that theyÂ´ll consider and decide it fair.

ItÂ´s not the promotion IÂ´m worried about, itÂ´s that merit medal.
And no, nowone at the ICTE seems to play the same games as I do.

Then you play strange games.

Medals come with specific services, competitions or continious work. So in every case stay at full energy and watch for a chance.

IÂ´m going to stay at full energy itÂ´s just that... sometimes it feels like I have to pay for the mistakes I did in the begining of my career, mistakes I have moved past.

Well once again my over active mind has thought of something yet again. I donâ€™t know if it is possible but here it is.

Straight from the Officer Manual,

"A Company is composed of a Company CO, a Company XO, and up to six officers, for a total of eight slots overall."

Now I don't know if we still follow this rule but some companys tend to have 9 or 10 members. We could stop overfilling if we fill more command slots.

Also from the Officer Manual,

"When Cadets or other applicants have met the training requirements necessary to be stationed into a Division as a full officer of the Empire, the sole general policy regarding their stationing is that it be done with the intention of maintaining a balanced roster, giving the unit with the most vacancies priority for receiving new recruits."

Ok now with all that being said my proposal,

The Army has 44 active members, 40 of which are in company the most vital unit of the Army. We have a total of 8 companies two of which are inactive, which is understandable we donâ€™t have a large enough force at the moment. But still 6 which are active and very unbalanced.

Dragon (0) [JA]
Gorgon (6) [BFII]
Hornet (0) [BFII]
Raider (8) [JA]
Spearhead (9) [GB]
Viper (5) [BFII]

The Brigade Roster is unbalanced too, The Second Brigade has all its companies full and the First has the two in-actives. Plus both are with out a BRG-XO.

I say we move thing around a bit make some opening well making everything balanced. So in order to do this we first start with the brigades. If this can be done, we switch Hornet with Viper, this way the First and Second Brigades both have 3 Active Companies and 1 inactive. Next the Companies, I know every company is supposed to have 8 members each, but we canâ€™t do that so we even every company to 6 members, a CO, XO and 4 members. Know if we do this we will have every CO and XO position filled, but we would have 3 left out members, no 2 would have to be the most qualified members to move to BRG-XO and the third would become a extra to put in to one of the companies. Then we have more open spots for new recruits.

I like the idea but it might be a little too much for General Jensen and the rest.

1. Agree to use the companies 3-1 - 3-1 per brigade.

2. Would need enough experienced officers to fill XO and CO of companies and brigades, which is rather difficult.

3. When we had a rush on certain platforms of the Army the Army Command decided to enhance the companies from 8 to 10 members so all new members could have a functional company. Just hasnÂ´t found itÂ´s way into the manual yet.

4. We canÂ´t just put members from one company to another because they have different game platforms, at least for the NCOs itÂ´s ill adviced to join a company whoÂ´s platform is not owned.

5. Lowering the number of members in a company as standart could be very difficult, as there would be CO and XO (in case you advice even always) for a group that is rather a task element then a task unit.

Anyone knows what Jensen thinks about this?
I guess you would need both his, BurtonÂ´s, LongstreetÂ´s and BranetÂ´s approval to do something this big.
And FelÂ´s.

I know I have already used this thread to try and promote myself but what the heck, it worked for Selden so IÂ´m going to give it another try.

2. As earlier discussed there is far from as many "really" active members as there are members.
So. the best way would probably be to simply promote all "really" active officers to XO or something like that.

Since when was three out of ten, eight out of ten, five out of ten and five out of ten full?

Hell, I don't even have that many. Offhand, I'd say only five members of the 2nd are active. Three of them are already at the officer level and there's no point promoting people to CO/XO of what's basically a defunct Company(*cough*Dauntless*cough*).

Plus I've only recieved two or three applications for CO/XO of those units, all from the same person. If someone wants CO or XO, they need only apply for it - and manage to convince their CO and BRG-CO they can do it. As for the BRG-XOs, somehow I doubt either Longstreet or myself are so handicapped we need an assistant to manage between 10 and 25 people.

Personally, I'd say that if any changes are on the horizon, they're of mergers, consolidation and downsizing. It's all rather unfortunate, but Star Wars is now nearly three decades old and not that many people are interested in it anymore. Especially not with newer games coming out... The games I've played in this month? Rome: Total War, Oblivion, C&C: Generals, Morrowind and KOTOR2. The only Star Wars platform in there isn't a multiplayer one, so there aren't any scope for its inclusion.

The Army's newest platform is BF2, which I'm forced to consider a resounding failure, at least here. Most of our members are affiliated with SWGB and JO, which were released in 2001 and 2002, respectively. Kinda hard to drum up new interest in games half a decade old.
