First of all: Please use punctuation. The lack of such makes even those two sentences unbearable to read.

A reboot can have multiple causes, but with a game we can narrow it down a bit:
1.) One (or more) of your RAM sticks could be defunct. Something like that is very often only "find-out-able" by loading RAM-intensive programms (such as games, etc).

2.) There might be a problem with your graphics card. That might be a hardware issue, like a faulty card, damaged graphics ram on the card or even an underpowered card.

3.) It's a software issue, meaning there's a problem with a driver or with the game.

In any case, my next question would be: Did the game work beforehand? If yes, what did you (or anybody else) change on the PC? Did someone install a new(er) graphics card driver? Or were new parts introduced to the PC?
Was something changed in game (in regards to game options, resolution, etc)?

You shouldn't have to reload your operating system for a game. Maybe the file's just corrupt?

I think he just meant that he had to reinstall the OS. Not necessarily that it was because of the game.

Hadrian: That sounds like a driver/patch issue then. Make sure you have the latest graphicscard driver (www.ati.com or www.nvidia.com - check what kind of model your card is beforehand) and make sure that your game is patched to the newest version.
