You are happily ensconed in your bed, dreaming of fluffy bunnies hopping around in meadows. The bunnies and meadows vanish as your door is bashed open and a pair of stealthy figures dash in, slipping a black hood over your head. You pass out from the choloform soaked into the hood.
Later - could be minutes, hours, days or weeks - you wake up. A scarlet figure is standing in front of you. The Royal Guardsman takes hold of his crimson helmet and lifts if off.
You know the face. It is Lieutenant Colonel Munro Burton, the Captain of the Royal Guard. He begins to speak, with your attention riveted to him...
Distraction Tournaments: An untraditional elimination tournament, participants are assigned in randomized pairs and must battle their way to the finals! The tournament does not follow standard match conventions. The first person to reach ten kills will win a match and pairs must battle until one person wins two matches of three. There is no choice of weapons - players must use the lightsaber. What makes this unique is that the Captain of the Royal Guard must be present at every match, firing at the duelists. I'm available nearly all the time, so just let me know when.
Missions - Each kill will be worth -1 point and each secret is worth 2 points. For JO, accuracy - if a Guardsman must engage in combat, he should be able to dispatch enemies without waste - will be divided by ten and rounded up to the nearest whole number.
Signups for the tournaments will close at midnight(GMT) on Sunday. The Guard Games close on the 24th, so you've got two weeks to do the SP stuff.
And, of course... the best performers from outside the Guard are often offered a position within.
Summary(For the lazier among you)
SP Starts: Now
MP Starts: Monday 18th
End: Sunday 24th
Who can participate: Everybody. Supreme Commander right down to your average Ensign or PFC.
Who can't participate: Captain of the Royal Guard, Reserves, Cadets, non-members.
At least I'm a walking improvisation device as well. The pairings have been uploaded to the GG3 site. Remember, you need me to be there for your Distraction games.
I am extending the deadlines to the 6th of January. Keep the fiction and SP submissions coming in - the more there are, the higher the medal's grade will be.
To those of you who still have unfinished MP matches: These boring days between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve give you a whole load of time to game. Be aware that I'm not going to be around from the 28th through the 2nd, so those of you with Distraction matches to play can ask either LCP Erinos or ALT Sklib(Both of whom have assisted me on previous distraction matches).
The Third Royal Guard Games are ended now. The blood of dozens have been spilt to determine the worthy. I give you the victors...

As the Captain of the Royal Guard, it is my responsiblity to ensure that only the best warriors of the Empire are allowed to join the hallowed ranks of the Royal Guard. It is also my responsiblity to maintain the Guard at a skill level far surpassing elite, maintaining the Guard's reputation for being the best fighters in the galaxy.
I am therefore proud to announce the following promotions within and additions to the Royal Guard.
Guardsman Sklib is hereby elevated to the Second Echelon.
Karel has proven himself worthy of the Royal Guard and is hereby inducted as a Guardsman Tyro.
Xayun Erinos has proven himself worthy of the Royal Guard and is hereby inducted as a Guardsman Tyro.
However, sometimes there are Guardsmen who fail to perform as required, though they are fortunately rare and far in-between. It is with regret that I announce the following...
Initate Weogi has been found to be falling below the high standard demanded by the Guard. He is therefore removed from the roll of the Guard.
