CoN Update

I'm sitting in a gaming center right now taking care of what little I can without my own computer as that's packed away. Hopefully I'll be in an apartment by Tuesday, and hopefully I'll be able to get the power turned on soon after that, then internet after that

I'll try to get online at work, but I'll at least let them get used to me before I start slacking off

Hopefully everything will work out nicely (yeah right) and I'll be back up soon.

Now, as many of you may now, I am fiercely patriotic. That said: the Americans did not win their independence so much as the British bumbled their way to defeat.

I mean, come on! You mean to tell me that the world's best Navy and one of the most professional armies couldn't subdue a ragtag bunch of colonists?

And you mean to tell me that a military-industrial complex spanning an entire galaxy couldn't defeat a bunch of stuffed bears?

There is a difference, now: The Empire is still able to gun for the Ew*ks, but the Brits would have a bit of a problem gunning for America.

Well the Brits lost because they backed off. I mean the reason we won was because we made the war so very costly to Britain theyd be in debt for a very long time if they contiuned it. We basically won a war of attrition. Its hard to control a colony when its an ocean away and u have such limiting technology to control them.
I remeber in history class hearing about a battle at few hills near boston where we only surrended because we ran out of ammo to kill Redcoats with.

I think there was quote from that "dont shoot till you see the white in their eyes" i think thats it.

The reason you won is because France was your ally. They completely tied the British into a war in Europe, supported you with money, ships and equipment and then sent over parts of their fleet to help. Why do you think the brits only sent so few armies over there?

You honestly believe militia would stand a big chance against a standing army in open field battles? I wish they'd teach real history in school. Admiral Zwibble has a really nice book about the crap they teach nowadays.

Thats true French was an important part of it. But seriously though We used garilla tactics the Redcoats had "red coats" with white straps on them a perfect bullleye. though to be perfectly frank the britsh wouldve still overwhelmed us eventually with sheer numbers and the fact that they had more ammo than us ( we scraped together it). But whatever that neither matters now and i doubt i can agrue about history a bit more without trying to use events i half know of. Im no expert on the Rev War.
