[GE Fleet Memo] Resignation of Supreme Commander

To all Active Galactic Empire Members:

It is my sad duty to inform you that, effective immediately, I have tended my resignation as Supreme Commander of the Empire Reborn to Admiral Fel and General Jansen. I feel that my level of time available to donate to the Empire as Supreme Commander has reached a point where I will no longer be able to complete my post effectively and lead the Empire to new levels. So far in my command I have run the Empire in a way that means there are no problems holding it up - by restructuring and diversifying the powers of the Supreme Commander.

Over my time in command, a little over two and a half years, I have seen many excellent officers rise in the ranks; seen new heights reached by the Empire and witnessed tremendous amounts of effort and time being donated. I hope that this will continue and that the handover to a new Supreme Commander will go smoothly and efficiently. To that end, I wish to thank all those who have supported me and helped me in my post over the years - both in the GE:ER and in the GE originally. I look forward to seeing the Empire expand further, although this will be from the sidelines.

To this end, effective from 1800GMT this evening, I hereby resign my post and after discussions, in my place, I promote

AD Tiberius Fel / SecGroup 2 SG-FO / ISD Nemesis / Imperial Navy
... to ...
Fleet Admiral Tiberius Fel / SecGroup 1 SG-FO / ISD Chimaera / Imperial Navy

And convey to him the title: Supreme Commander of Imperial Forces.

For myself, I will transfer out of my post, and accept a demotion to the rank of Admiral, and will take up a position in the IDMR on the Yaga Minor Shipyard. Here I will work closely with Sector Governor Vortagh and Vice-Admiral Jagged Fel to bring new technologies to the Empire. The domain updates and email updates will soon be redirected to cover these changes.

May we all wish the new Supreme Commander good luck in his post!

Though it is sad to see Admiral Polanski stepping down, I can think of no one better to replace him. I wish the best of luck to both Admirals in their new commands.

My congratulations, FA Fel!.
AD Polanski realized an extraordinary effort to maintain the GEER united, work for which we will always remember him and will be grateful, and now his work will be very well continued by an excellent and worth successor.
You can be sure that you were provided with all our unconditional support in his new position as Supreme Commander.

Congratulation FA Fel! And thank you Polanski, I'm not going to write it better then Branet so I just add that the work in lifting the GE after the GA emptiness is probably why this club lives. hats off to your work!

On a more legal RL matter, how does ownership of the ER.net domain and it's various pages/files/etc stand?

As far as I can say, I really doubt how anybody could hold any copyright on anything done by the GE anyways.

Well, as far as I know, Jansen pays the bills, with donations from several members. That's probably the nearest thing we've got to a copyright holder.

As for ownership - the club owns it, so whoever is the club "owns" the pages. As for the domain, I still use the hosting package so I will still contribute to the hosting fees

Well done Fel you deserve it as you've always steadfastly served the Empire through thick and thin. Admiral Polanski we thankyou for your help as Supreme Commander especially for when you filled the vacuum that was GA Daemon's departure!

The domain is registered under my name, but both Admiral Polanski, myself and now Fleet Admiral Fel split the hosting with the help of others who donate.
