Another One Bites the Dust...

The bigger they come, the harder they fall. Before I get wound up in quoting cliches for the next hour, I would like to tender my resignation from active Imperial Duty and announce my transfer to the Reserves. After 19 months (and four days) of service to the GE, I must temporarily defer to RL and more qualified officers who can manage the 2nd Brigade better than I have.

I made a tad bit of a splash when I first joined. I went from a porn troll to a Master Sergeant in the Stormtrooper Legion in a matter of days. I'll never forget CL LaForge shutting down my first thread faster than I could say "KotoR"! But I shaped up, and quickly gained respect with my Detachment Commander, Nathan Chu, and Legion Executive Jagged Fel. When the Legion merged with the Army, I was soon teamed up with now ALC Branet, who is one of the best guys around. I have been a beneficiary of the company that I keep, that's for sure.

I have been lucky enough to have helped build some very successful units in the Empire. I worked hard to build up activity in Raider and Spearhead Companies, and it pleases me greatly to see many of my subordinates becoming leaders in the Army, i.e. ALT Glendon, RES Matt Farmer, Branet, and now ACP Nexant and ALT Foley. I thank you all for your great service. I didn't deserve your hard work and loyalty. You will continue to build the Army up to its inevitable success.

General Jansen and Brigadier Jagged Fel, you guys are the heart and soul of the Army, and were some of my biggest supporters at the top. I will never forget that, and I thank you wholeheartedly.

And Commodore Zwibble...wow. I have worked closely with three Academy Commandants, and you have topped them all (no disrespect to General Jansen, of course). The Academy is still on all cylinders and back from the dead, thanks to you. I was only too glad to help pick up the laundry and do your odd jobs. Good luck, and keep your deans and future Prefect working hard!

I hope I leave some legacy, of course. My fiction will be here, and the collection may grow still, we'll see. I hope my poor tenure as BRG-CO will not reflect too badly on me if I return anytime soon. I have always never been afraid of facign the consequences of my actions, though, and I will let people judge me as they may. For now, I will be content to just fade away and let better men fill my shoes. Thank you, and may all the honor and glory be to the Galactic Empire!!

You will be sorely missed, Mitchell. I only hope you can return to active duty some day in the not-to-distant future. I'll leave a pile of dishes for you in the Academy Mess' sink.

It's a shame to see you go, Sir. You've been one of my supporters in my still young career and I'm wholeheartedly sad to see you go. Hope you can get back and RL won't keep you too busy

What IÂ´ve got to know from you is that youÂ´ve done your job and have been
a good officer. Sadly that makes it even more sad to see you leaving like too many others.

I wish you every good for your further RL, stay alive and, if youÂ´re able to, come back!
