Just one thing, when I try to run the "ships" patch, I cannot find the correct Directory to place it in. On my TIE95 it seems as if there is no "Patches" Catagory.

I know, you have to create it
It may seem dumb, but it keeps them all organized, and eventually there'll be a lot more patches for other ships and such, and it just keeps the TIE directory cleaner.
I may add support for the ISD and Shields patch to be run in the main directory since those are stand-alone executables, will look at that when I get back up to school.

Sirs, I apologize for all my questions, and thank you for answering the last one Mr. Fel, but I was wondering, when the patch reads that you must "add the craft in the" so and so "spots" (as in #11 or #10), what exactly does it mean? ( just incase it differs from game to game I have TIE95)

That's for mission creators, if they want to use the craft when they're creating a mission. Since TIE wasn't originally made for those craft to be used, there are empty slots in the shiplist that TIE uses. The patch overwrites the empty positions and fills them in with the data for the added ships. So if you wanted to use the SSD, in TFW or whatever you're using you would select "Slot 54", the one right after the ISD, and the SSD would be in the mission. Likewise the SHIPYD and REPYD can be used with Slots 10 and 11.

so the only way one can play them is if a mission with them in it is created?

Also, (I am a complete noob to TIE-Fighter) how does one create missions?

You need a mission creator. I use TIE Fighter Workshop to make mine. You can find the programs in the Tactical Office
