XWA trouble

Post by Reservist Foley »

Here's a baffling question I have for whoever may have the answer. I just got XWA and it won't install. It will run off the disc in some strange way, but It just doesn't want to install onto my computer. What happens is the install shield comes up for a nano-second then disapears and nothing else happens. Is this some common error that I need to have a patch or something for, or is it something wrong with my computer? I can still play, but it's a pain to have to do it via the disc. And with that, assuming no more problems come my way, I will be happy to play someone in XWA to get my BCC. Thanks for any suggestiosn that come through.

Hmm, that's wierd that it won't install, but at least it's playable. You'd still need the CD to play anyway, unless you take the time to do a No-CD work-around. You can't patch a CD, as such the 2.02 patch can only be applied after the game is intalled.

Yeah. It doesn't save my pilot either, so I can only go as far as I play that one time. Do you think the No-CD option would work if I moved all my CD files onto the computer? And when I asked about the patch, I was wondering if there was something that needed to be set on the computer beforeI could install it.

Don't forget the game is used...that might be a problem.

That's not it. It's something else that's wrong.

I presume that you managed to sucessfully install it earlier on the same PC with the same OS and specs... if yes. Win is the bug. Format C:\ and reinstall everything :p

Have you tried beating your computer with your shoe? That works for me.
