Army Notices (courtesy of COL Fel's reports):
-------------------------
-You should know this part by heart now...
-Saturdays 1600-2300 EST (GMT-5) in #outerrim on IRC - InterClub
Training Event, come and play against other clubs like Rebel Squadrons,
Emperor's Hammer, StarVipers, etc. They host many games, including XWA,
XvT, the JK series, GB, FC, and now Battlefront. Stop in and have a good
time!
-Ladders. I don't care if it's even XvT, sign up and play your fellow
officers! Increase your Combat Rating, increase your skill, kill stuff!
-If you have GB, or any of the X-wing series, start flying Combat
Chamber missions. Besides the fact that you can get medals for the
amount you fly, right now you'll also be getting OS points as well. Go
for high scores and try to top the Elite Pilots roster.
Reports:
--------------------------
Dauntless: Yes
Viper: Have been in contact with JLT Foley, who shares my concerns for
the dissappearance of ACP Chu, who I am listing as AWOL at the moment.
No formal reports yet, and I have assured JLT Foley that action will be
taken concerning this....
Demon: No (not essential until you get a CO, all members report to me
until that time)
PS: Now that we have an independently functioning Brigade chain of
command, reports must be sent in per Army protocols. If there isn't much
to say, don't waste your time BSing. But if you have things to say, you
need to let your subordinates know what's what around here. That's why
you make reports in the first place.
Notes and Thoughts:
---------------------------
Been a rough start to school, so my presence has been much smaller of
late (note my going nearly three weeks without posting on the MBs).
Would like to make two reports per month, but we'll see how things go.
It's been a bipolar month for me. Last week was absolutely lousy,
nothing seeming to go right. But this weekend has been great. Our
cross-country team did great at our meet, work was fun, and I wiped
myself with a newspaper for the first time in my life. W00T!
I have turned in my comments for the CO review. Once again (if ArmyComm
hasn't made this clear enough to any of you, please get your head
examined), you are REQUIRED to send your comments on your direct
superiors to Fleet Admiral Polanski. It shouldn't take you fifteen
minutes to do this (if it takes longer, take a typewriting class).
Also, of course, get involved in OS. Get points, get medals. Prety
simple, eh?
Finally, some shout-outs to some former Spearhead comrades of mine who
have become Company COs in the 1st Brigade. First, a special "Buenas
noches!" to my good friend Branet, now commanding Spearhead, who is
celebrating Independence Day in Chile this weekend with his family. Viva
Chile! Congrats to Zeke Freeman, now CO of Dragon Company. Keep up the
good work, Lieutenant!
And, for the Quote of the Week, my longtime-loyal Sergeant and current
CO of my first command post, Army Lieutenant Glendon, whom I credit for
this little spot of brilliance:
A concidence berween Lincoln and Kennedy
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven
letters.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the
White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both were shot in the head.
Lincoln's secretary, Kennedy, warned him not to go to
the theatre.
Kennedy's secretary, Lincoln, warned him not to go to
Dallas.
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners.
Both successors were named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in
1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in
1908.
John Wilkes Booth was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are comprised of fifteen letters
Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a
warehouse.
Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a
theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their
trials.
A month before Lincoln was assassinated he was in
Monroe, Maryland.
A month before Kennedy was assassinated he was in
Marilyn Monroe.
BTW: The lucky newspaper I used for TP was the Homes and Real Estate
section of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Sleep on that one
