I've posted an update for the Mission Converter. Fixed a tweak in the TIE -> XvT process, and I have most of XvT -> XWA complete.
Just a few issues left in XvT -> XWA;
-Does NOT port briefing due to format. Strings and Tags are imported, but the briefing must be done by hand. (I may do this in the future, but not until the rest of the program is complete)
-Currently does not port Mission Description, but I just missed the info, should be fixed relatively soon.
-Does not check for multiple player craft. If you convert a mission with more than one craft listed as Player craft (which you shouldn't be, following GE standards), make sure to have only 1 player craft (using Optional Craft is okay)
-the "Ship Type" trigger type is off by 1 (if it's Y-wing in XvT it'll be X-wing in XWA). I'm working on it, but it happens in many locations.
-Adds a default Backdrop/Lightsource to the mission in Region 1

Well, I was very productive today, for the most part everyone left me alone
The Converter is now complete for XvT to XWA, including the adjustments for using the Ship Type trigger. XvT missions with multiple player craft will now load the first player it comes across, the rest will be AI. Minor tweak to the interface, and it now auto-detects the platform of the original mission, allowing for the text sections of BoP missions to be ported over as well.
As always, if you notice something don't hesitate to let me know. Next and last for this program is TIE to XWA, instead of double conversion.

Okay, been a while, so I've got two updates.
The Mission Converter is complete and support all three conversion, including briefings. May need minor tweaks (especially capital ship AI) but otherwise should be working properly. Please notify me of any issues that come up.
Also the PilotViewer got a minor overhaul, with anti-cheating support added for TIE in both versions. I won't tell you what sets it off, because that would defeat the purpose

The cheats come as part of the games. They're activable by doing the following...
TIE: Press G while inflight. That brings up the goal menu. Press the left/right arrows until you get to a screen with options for invulnerability, unlimited ammo and collisions.
XWA: Press Esc at any time. Go into General Options. Active Invulnerability and/or infinite ammo.
Use of the cheats do reduce your score to a paltry 10%, so don't bother using them unless you just want to get through the mission.

So... is using the in-game options for invulnerability and unlimited ammo considered "cheating" by GE laws? For that would be a completely new policy to me...
I have always been under the impression that "cheating" was something like manually creating a pilot file and entering a score of ten billion in order to get a high score and that kind of thing...

These cheats are, as far as I know, permitted. After all, I've read ER documents saying "Using invulverability and/or infinite ammo will reduce your score by 90%, so if you want a highscore, don't use them." which implies that using those are allowed.

Syrt: Yes, that's the sort of cheat that Jag's program (<plug> and indeed my own </plug>) is out to catch. Using the invulnerability/unlimited ammo is not counted as "cheating" - it's just stupid, because it reduces your score to something pathetic.
