Imperial Reorganization Complete!

Officers of the Empire:

The reorganization of the Navy and the Army was delayed significantly by the server move and the associated issues. With that in mind, everything is now complete.

This began a few months ago with a discussion about how we might reorganize the Navy to allow for greater opportunities for young officers. After much work, we have come up with the following system:

Instead of having the larger 10 and 12 person units in the Army and Navy, respectively, both Navy and Army units will be three person units. This affords officers MUCH greater ability to advance within their chosen division.

Naval Squadrons are not altered by this, except that newly graduated cadets will be placed into the 2-1 and 3-1 positions, where they may advance up to Lieutenant Junior Grade, from Ensign. As top graduates from the academy, the "real life" officers are pressed into higher level positions than the average academy graduate. The wingmen in a flight still exist, of course, but they are not staffed by "real life" officers.

Bridge Crews see a reduction in positions to Team Leader, Adjutant, and Fire Control. Newly graduated cadets may be placed into the Adjutant and Fire Control positions. The other members of the bridge crew still exist, but not staffed by "real life" officers.

The Army sees the largest changes. A company how has a CO, and Platoon 1 Leader, and a Platoon 2 Leader.The other non-commissioned officers still exist in the army, but are not staffed by "real life" officers.

A number of officers are being promoted as a result of the reorganization. The following promotions take immediate effect:

Congratulations to all of you!

A great many officers have moved positions, although in practice their assignments have not changed. As such, *all* officers are advised to check their profiles ( e.g. http://empirereborn.net/profile.php?pin=155 ...replacing 155 with YOUR PIN, or simply search the roster).

Please make sure to update your ID-line in your signature if your position has changed!

A few items still need to be overhauled - for example, combat medallions - but for the rosters, everything should be in order. Please report any problems to me at sc@empirereborn.net (the Bug Tracker is still disabled for security reasons).

Your unit commanders will be in contact with you shortly. Congratulations to all!

So with this overly complex move around that makes more groups of smaller people who probably will be just as inactive as large groups of inactive people I have to ask.

Will it inprove activity?

Also just to be petty.. This has stopped me from getting my PROMISED officer job... I know its petty but I shouldnt have been promised one if it was false.

Reserves please.

And yes I will log in and request reserves.

Part of what creates activity is motivation, and we are now providing more opportunities to advance under the new system. Time will be the judge of the system.

I am delighted that this reorginization has taken place. I now have a large number of smaller, more dynamic units. This allows greater opportunities for inter squadron competitions inside of ships, but also allows us to construct leagues.

There is a severe AWOL check in progress. Anyone who does not respond to the check is gone, no exceptions

If anyone feels that activity is falling, i would put it to them to encourage activity through outside ER communications with their squadron wingmen / army equivilant
