Iota Squadron News
The Outer Sectors Campaign is over, and activity has dropped off with it, from me on down. However, now isn’t the time to slack off. GE Domination 3 is underway, so we need to show the Fleet what Iota Squadron can do. Fly missions, send in fiction, and submit graphics. At the very least, fill out your skills section of your profile, or even your personal bio area as well, and inform System Governor Vortagh about them for points.
Secondly, the Iota Squadron Banner Competition is in progress. I’m extended the deadline until July 2nd, so that’ll give everyone plenty of time to send in something. We could really use an upgrade so send in some good graphics.
Third, Officer Lanil Jast has transferred to the Reserves. I’m not exactly sure when this happened, or why, but according to the rosters, it has. I wish him the best of luck with his future, and hope to see him return to our ranks one day.
Fourth, the general GE Meeting will be held tomorrow, Saturday June 10th in the IRC channel #galactic_empire. They’ll be announcements, trivia, and other fun stuff with your fellow Imperials. I myself will be unable to attend, as I’ll be off with the concert band for the day at Six Flags, or forced to work for the corporate evil that is Wal-Mart if they decided to be pains. 2LT Drazhar has also informed me he’ll be unable to attend as well, so that’s both senior officers out of the loop. If you want to smooze with the HC, this is a good chance to make yourself known, and get a look at how the GE is run (or watch as a bunch of drunken command officers make decisions in an open forum. Whoops, did I say that? :P) Little humor there….
Lastly, I really need those of you newer pilots to get in touch with me. I’m not sure if I’ve gotten around to sending invites for the Iota Yahoo! Group, and if I haven’t added you to the mailing list, I need to know this. Additionally, I haven’t heard from SL O’Moran in awhile either. So, I want everyone (except Draz who I hear from almost daily) to send me an e-mail, IM, whatever to let me know what you’ve been up to and that you’re still alive. If you require an LOA or whatever, I would like to know. I’m officially declaring EN I. Semm and EN Skacore AWOL and will request that they be transferred to the Reserves shortly. I hope they’ll be the only pilots I need to replace.
(Insert shameless plug) Also, if you’re bored and want something to do, you’re free to volunteer to aid VA Jagged Fel and the Office of Tactical Coordination in flight testing the plethora of custom missions that have been submitted over the years and put off until now. Send him an e-mail or IM if you’re interested. If you could see the list on the ImperialSquadrons.net message boards, you’d know why I’m putting out this invitation. We’ve got dozens of missions still to test of TIE, XvT/BoP, and XWA, and not much happening.
Personal News
I’m back for good this time. I’m in the process of typing up the first chapter of a fiction I’m co-writing with Army Captain John Foley from 2nd Brigade to submit for GEDom3 and I should have that done shortly. I’ve also finally gotten around to starting testing some of the missions OTC has posted up. And I’ll be working on creating several missions for submission to go along with the fiction within the next few weeks. It’s nice being out of school!
Current Squadron Orders
• Submit any works of fiction, graphics, or mission creations for GE Domination III
• Participate in the Iota Squadron Banner Competition
• Fly any assigned missions from CM Muscat for his Chimaera Reborn project.
• Fly as many missions as possible from the Combat Chamber
• Participate in the Combat Ladders for any platform you possess the BCC for, including XvT, XWA, EaW, JO, JA, BF and BF2, and GB.
• Please aim to make contact at least once every three days even if it's just to say “Hi, I'm here, I'm flying this mission” (You can send mail to all the squadron via iotasquad@yahoogroups.com.)
