A Question about the first set of missions

I read that there's also an XvT mission for this set of missions.
I suppose that means we can fly our assigned mission and TWO additional, unassigned mission for points?
Also - can the Navy take part in the "Army" part of the competition?
I mean we basically do not report in to General Jansen, but I can think of a few ways to still write something.

Completing simulations assigned to others is worth 8 points, so yes, you may fly your assigned mission and the two additional missions.
Note that flying missions not assigned to you doesn't count towards how many people participated in that mission... only assigned ones count...
And yes, I believe the Navy can complete the Army parts and vice-versa if desired.

Yes you can take part in the Army section and it would be counted as a fiction submission... but as it's not assigned to you, you can get a max of 5 pts.
I shall post this edit on the other board...

Good, because I want to get some flight time in

Admiral Fel said this was somewhere else, but I couldn't find the answer, so I'll ask here:
If you can't get your SG's platform to work, is it permisible to fly another mission for 'offical credit'? (The situation is that I may not be able to reinstall and play TIE, but XWA works fine for me).

Pol & Fel: That's what I thought. I was just unsure since it was a different Plattform for the other side, while we all got to play TIE! :)

We'll look at those cases individually, I think. Please keep in mind that there are many many ways to get TIE to work: DosBox, VDMSound, all sorts of things. Keep trying.

Jag and I worked on it for a bit today and we got it to work, so it's no longer an issue.

You have one week to complete your assigned mission... (Turn it in to Vice Admiral Fel when completed)"
What mission XvT is "Turkey Shoot" ?
Or does he want to say that i should complete any mission XvT, indistinctly?(Hmm, I did not find any equivalent in English of the Spanish word "modismo"

)

Turkey Shot is one of the Missions XvT comes with when you buy it. Just start XvT, load your character and check out the single player missions. It should be in there.
Jeez, can we get an XwA mission for the Chim as well, TIE sucks. :P
Now I have to whip Steel to play TIE, save his pilot on floppy and then take out the floppy drive and put it into another computer. :P

Hehe, Vort, it was worse before I sent out the updated copy. Much worse.

I don't think the mission is that bad, it's just that it is a whole lot of work for some of the people in my squad to get the mission to work. Both Steel, Zwib and me have it installed, but on a computer that is not connected to the network. Thus we all have to fly it and then remove the floppy in that computer and put it in another computer to get the file sent out.
Seeing how the Nemesis people got *two* missions to choose from, I'd like to request an XWA mission for us as well next round. :)

Vort: So? I used to do that until I got TIE to work on XP, big deal

It is annoying, period.
I do it, too, doesn't mean it's the optimum resolve. Also, I point at the Nemesis. Why do we have to fly TIE if they have two different things?

The idea as I saw it was that the XvT squads would fly XvT and the XWA squads fly XWA. Zeta's in a tough situation because we can't make FW sims, at least as far as I know. But maybe we can accommodate something...
