Hey,

have some problem with this mission. It says that the Imperial Fighter losses may not be higher then 25%, and that the Pike must escape.

Well, when the Pike has finished it´s route there are, without me giving a single shot, 23-24% losses. But then the Pike doesn´t instantly jump but is put on a hold.

Though I could of course destroy the rebel fighters, which would end our infiltration mission, I should let the Pike go.

So what to hell am I expected to do?

Not destroy any fighters. It's really a gamble whether or not your support ships will destroy 25% or not, so you just got to keep doing it until the Pike escapes without the fighter death toll going over 25%.

But this is bullshit. This makes the player a complete movie visitor; I could fly 10 clicks into the rear and wait till it´s over (and what will happen is that the mission will be lost).

I could destroy the warheads against the Pike or not, it will stay intact anyway. I´ve tried half a dozen times now, everytime our damn losses are too high. I could try to destroy the rebel fighters, but whis would give negative points and the mission would be lost, too.

Yeah, basically, but let's not point fingers. *cough* Jagged *cough*. :P

As for flying around, that's what I did, seven klicks to the rear and then back again until the Pike hypers. All fun and games.

This is not a regular CC mission gentlemen.

Keep in mind that it follows the OS-II storyline. Like it or not. I for one must create missions that I am not particularly proud of from time to time. I know they are simple and easy.

I suggest we do our duty. I expect nothing less.

Very true, Commodore. My apologies if my comment offended the Vice Admiral or anyone for that matter.

Longstreet: I understand your difficulties. That's a part of the mission. Usually GE missions only have one objective to them (kill everything!) but sometimes in a war troops will have two objectives that compete against one another (in this case, get as many points as you can but don't destroy too many of the Imperials). It is tough, but I know you are up to the challenge. :-)
