I'll be heading home for a couple weeks, so I won't have the constant uptime. I will still have daily dial-up access, so no worries about me completely dissappearing. Also, shortly after I get back to Rochester, I'll be packing up and moving to Maryland for six months for a co-op, and I'm not sure about the situation there yet. Don't everyone kill each other while I'm out

Hey! I'm forced to deal with it everyday. Don't even say to get better because the greater powers that be won't go for it and begging on my knees doesn't work.

Mine only got it when they were able to get the digital phone service with it (they use RR). Up until that point, they saw no reason to switch from like a $6-10/mo bill to a $20/mo bill.

Well, our bill changed from ca. 130â‚¬ to ca. 30â‚¬ (inklusive phone), so I have another reason why I couldnÂ´t understand their earlier opinions.

We had ISDN (128Kbit/s) when most of the tiny community of internet-users had only modems with 28 Kbit/s

I love the old 14.4k days, they had a special style and people using it needed a mixture of strong fascination and patience to keep on it.

Nowadays too many things are seen as normal ...

Actually, in the 14.4k days (I'd been at the game long before 14.4k modems

), sites were just text and a few pictures where only necessary, so things loaded decently.

Nowdays, so many sites make you download a 4 MB flash thing and it sucks. Takes way too much time. I like my pages without the flash, thank you.
