We're really not that absurd, though. This is how we actually do things. You should've seen us in the old days when we were still energetic. Rala and I really used to tear things up. Oh yeah, we'd be speeding all over the place in the Chimaera. La Forge and the other kiddies would be getting sick, and Rala and I just laughed and ate donuts.

*sniff*...I miss the old days.

Absurdism is not necessarily based onplots that are absurd, but rather a presentation of events made in a very wacky, unorthodox manner (Beckett's Waiting For Godot, for example, a very entertaining play, if not strange and anticlimactic). Your story is also pretty funny, now that I've actually read it. Perhaps we shall continue inspiring each other's muses for a while (I'm trying to figure a way to tie in Rala's pastry fetish into my story at the moment), it's been good fun.

The first paragraph of Duty Calls is rather similar to the first paragraph of a first chapter I wrote a while back... I guess the Captain is woken up by alarms a lot!

great story man, but a few things...

1. my GE person is 35 not 42

2. i'm sorry, it was damn funny but i had to edit the part about me vs Rala as ISB Cols...

...in profile, my person was a ISB before joining the GE, you might want to change that

MSG Mitchell, have Yoda offer Rala some donuts. Or maybe since Yoda is gone, Rala could find the hut, and there would be some VERY stale donuts that he could eat, and then go crazy. OR, ideas are flying to me, you had mentioned slipping something in his breakfast, what about poisoned donuts :P :P

Thanks for the age thing Sol. Since you're still a fair bit older than Russell, you can still serve as a sort of surrogate parent to him.

As for the Rala-Solidis incident, that actually has a sort of future significance that comes back to haunt your character on Dagobah while you're cooped up in your ship having conversations with your past (big spoiler there, sorry). Call it a small bit of artistic license (comapred to Michael Moore or Oliver Stone, probably not that big of a deal, I hope).

As for your joining the ISB before entering the GE, that shouldn't be that big of a problem, since that is a minor error that I'm not going to revisit anytime soon.

Once again, thanks for the necessary changes, and a reminder that the un-Bowdlerized version is on the Epsilon website, for those who wish to see both the Archives version and the uncut, XXX-rated version (that chapter won't come until later on, so keep reading).

Ensign Stark pops out of no where beside Lt Solidis and hands him a datapad. When the Lt looks down at the pad he sees one button marked directions. He presses it and the link pops up.

Please format URLs like this. Thank you.

I think the link is something to the effect of http://branet0.tripod.com/Epsilon/broken_chain.htm. Try that and see if it works...

I've sent Chapter One to Lt. Branet, to be published on the Epislon site soon, I hope). You can also read it on the Archives, though it looks much better on Branet's site.

That's pretty good. Ironically, I do drink fairly heavily, but with my years of alcoholic experiences behind me, I keep it together fairly well.

But it's good. I'm looking forward to the next bit.
