People, as much as I hate to disappoint you:
a) Germany has a BIT more industry than you guys :P
b) We have shipyards right around the corner :P
c) We have rain, too :P
d) If I had to fly somewhere, I'd fly to the US, because it will look more like....the US. :P

Canada would be the next best choice. In fact a lot of Movies and TV shows set in the US are actually filmed in Canada because despite the loss of value the US Dollar has taken the exchange rate is still attractive to a lot of media types that want to save a buck. A few movies filmed in Canada actually looked more like the United States than the US itself does, but if you want continuity you really can't beat Americans playing at playing Americans.
